There is another potential issue. If the FED cuts "aggressively" (e.g. - .5% at this meeting), it is a pretty strong signal that the Fed believes we are on the cusp of a recession. I had to explain this to my son on why this might actually have a negative impact on the stock market (he's pretty heavily invested, but almost all of it is in index funds, so I told him not to lose sleep over it.) But his initial question to me was along the lines of "how can the market do anything but go up if the Fed cuts interest rates?" I explained that one of the things that might lead to that is if there is in fact a recession. His follow up was "well, if you can't earn interest on savings, where do you go but the stock market?" I explained that if there is a recession, then corporate earnings in a consumer-driven economy are going to be impacted, because people won't be able to spend money. He understood it with just a couple of minutes discussion. All that said, he's in his 30's. I told him don't sweat it, just stick to his current strategy of investing each month in low-cost funds, and allow time to heal any relatively short-term dings to his portfolio.

The rising interest rate can surely control inflation, but won't prevent erosion of the eroding purchasing power of the US dollar. I have learnt my lesson this time. The banks can't be making money off my money, while inflation eats into it. I have set aside 650k to invest in the stock market now, since that keeps up with inflation, but I don't know how to get started.

Those waiting to buy a house or finance something: when the Fed cuts rates banks are historically very slow to change their interest rates that benefit them. Meaning fast to lower interest rates they are paying, but slow to lower interest rates they are receiving (mortgages and other loans).

It won't affect the election much, first because 90+% of voters don't even pay attention to interest rates. And second, because the effects of a September rate cut won't be felt for six months to a year. So if the economy is headed for recession, a rate cut won't stop that - not before the election anyway. Now sometimes a rate cut can generate optimism in the market that might influence some votes, but I doubt this is one of those cases. At this point a rate cut probably won't even effect the markets because the markets have already factored three expected .25% rate cuts into their stock valuations. In fact, there is speculation that a .50% cut in September (larger than the expected .25%) might actually panic market by signaling that the Fed fears a recession is imminent. As Jaspreet says here, the Fed lowers rates to stimulate the economy. They do that because the economy isn't doing so well in one way or another.

If rates go down prices will go up. If everyone borrows at the same time, rates will go up still. The FED rate is not our interest rate is the banks. A FED cut will cause demand to go up which in turn will raise rates.

They are setting up 2008 2.0. It's that simple, but instead of just a housing bubble we already have an everything bubble now that will go into a super bubble. The resulting crash will be magnificent when it happens. Easily 75%+ total market bottom afterwards, likely a 1-3 year long recession.

Norvenai is easier to manage by the US govt, so it will have the support of it 💯. From how Binance has been handled and currently managed, US govt will want to try to control the crypto space and make it an extension of the US dollar as a tool to control inflation and dollar economy. Norvenai will get the backing eventually because ETH is heading in the opposite decentralised unregulated direction
