Always glad to see a boardgame with a theme from Ancient Greece !!! Thank you Paul

What do you think happened to the Minoans?
@georgioschalikias48835 ай бұрын
@@GamingRulesVideos The most possible explanation -and it is only hypothetical so far - is that the erruption of the volcano of Thera (Santorini) led to a massive Tsunami wave that destroyed this extra-ordinary Bronze age civilization. Remnants of this civilization fled to shores of Middle East and were considered as precursors of Hebrew ancient tribes

"Welcome to playing games with Rob" 😂😂Very fun playthrough, I liked the dice drafting and needing score to go up the tracks a different take on just placing a worker for your actions. Will certainly look into this one.

For those who don't want to trawl through the chat, the answer to Paul's question on re-rolls (two matching answers, I didn't notice who the other person who got there first was) is 22%. Goes up to 29.5% with four players (one extra die). So typically once per game.

Could you please explain how you get this? I used formula (6 × (16! ÷ (10! × 6!)) × 6^10) ÷ 6^16 and get 1.02 which seems wrong but I can't track my mistake.
@christopherdearlove374322 күн бұрын
@@kostiantynshapran163unfortunately I can’t give you a helpful answer. I ran some software I have with which I can answer many probability problems and that was the answer.

At four players it looks like it might take a while for it to come back round to you. Reminds me a bit of Tiletum.

Good comparison - because you can end up chaining a number of things off a few actions.

Luckily we mostly play at 2 and we both like a complicated, engine building game with lots of combos. This looks very tempting, although I'm still waiting for Windmill Valley to arrive so I should resist another pre-order.
@deanfukuhara96685 ай бұрын
Thank you for another wonderful playthrough Paul! I like combos as much as anyone, but I think this game is too combolicious for my tastes. In rounds 3 & 4 the non active players have too much downtime waiting for the active player to execute all of their combos. Even though there is the bonus action to trade in cards for 1 coin each, I would still propose limiting the number of cards to a manageable number like 8-10. Since there as so many cards that allow you to play another card, sometimes a player will have to go through 20 cards to decide which one to play next which really bogs down play. It seems like the game is one round too many, but I see why the designers had to use 4 so that the 2 scorings would have equal amount of rounds. I could also propose that players only play 3 die/round, but that would handicap players getting > 9 value/color to move up the tracks. I agree with Fractus that this game reminds me of Tiletum. Consequently I will pass on Minos, and continue to enjoy Tiletum.

There is a lot, and normally that is an issue for me, but I was able to handle it in this game.

This game looks really cool. Seems interesting but complicated. Looks like there’s a lot going on. I’ve never played a real euro game before so it looks a little intimidating. But for worker placement type games, I’ve played several, including Lords of water deep, champions of Midgard, Charterstone, Everdell, Marvel, age of heroes and dune imperium, which is a combination of worker placement and card management.
@GamingRulesVideos27 күн бұрын
It is a bit more complex that all of the others you have listed. But it is good to know other people have played Age of Heroes (assuming you mean the Marvel one)
@starshadow885727 күн бұрын
@@GamingRulesVideos yes the Marvel one. I like it but is a little slow to build, especially at higher player counts when teaching the game. I like Marvel United much more than this one, but different dynamics for game play.

The probability of obtaining at least 6 dice with the value 6 when rolling 16 dice is approximately 3.78%

Yep. But it isn't just 6's. You re-roll is there are 6+ dice of the same value. So, it's about 22%

I've played games where not everyone built everything, but there is still a lot to do and think about.
