You would think, but the majority of early model 360s have defective GPUs, and when the GPU gives up, you get the red ring of death.

4:31 This is not true. The faulty GPUs were to blame for the RROD. The solder bumps underneath the GPU die that connected it to the substrate would crack over time from thermal cycles. It had nothing to do with the motherboard.

I have two 2005 360s that both have multiple blown capacitors. One is Jtaggable. Probably going to learn how to solder and recap them
