I just got my copy today, and as a lover of horse racing board games, can't wait to get giving it a go. And kudos to you sir, this video is a great help. While I was able to figure out most of the rules, there were a few blind spots which you cleared up with this review, except for one which I'm still a wee bit sketchy on. Maybe you'll let me know what you do in this situation? So I had placed a bet on You Got Me at the beginning of Round 1, but it's running so bad, I'm beginning to think someone has swapped the real one for a clapped out old carthorse! So at the end of the round, I decide to change my bet. Do I actually remove the card with the bet for You Got Me from the round completely, or is it returned to the cards in my hand for playing as normal? And now when I think of it, if it's removed for that round, does it return for the third round? Apart from this, I think I've got the rules reasonably straight in my head. Great video, really enjoyed it.

100% agree on clunky but delivers. Honestly just the write-up of the rules is clunky, once you play you’re all set. And I now own 11 Button Shy games, they sent me 5 over the course of the fall. The new additions were The Royal Limited, Mint Julep, Super Slopes, Wonder Tales, and River Wild. I need to play a lot more of their catalogue before I pick a top 10. What are your favorite Buttonshy games?

Among my faves are Naturopolis, Banned Books and Antinomy. Love Food Chain Island and Tussie Mussie and so many more. Just about to do a top ten ranking video 😊

I find the design grossly imbalance. The player who change his bets in later rounds will have point deducts and have one less card to play from their hand. That is double punishment. I gonna do some house rule on my own.

Dan Letzring did NOT do a good job with this rulebook. Or Button Shy is at fault. They even reprinted it, and it's bad. You are showing 6 cards per player in a 2-player game. Why? I've read the rules and everything on BGG. There's no indication of how many cards you start with. If anything, they imply that you start with 3 cards, and there are 2 dummy hands that may or may not get used (randomly off the top?). Button Shy really dropped the ball with this, which is a shame, because most of their games are worth the cost.

Under player setup it says to deal each player an equal number of cards, and in a 2-player game deal four piles or 3. Then draft (the 2-player way), and I'm pretty sure that makes you end up with 6 cards each?

@@speedwaytag3321 I'm sorry, but that's not helping me much. I need it explained, or watch a video that shows this. Actually, I've completely lost interest at this point. This one is going in the trash.
