i have a question so am going to get mint moblie 3 month service but i would want to get 12 month service after the 3 months is almost over so if i do switch to 12 month service would they have to ship me a new sim card or do i keep the same sim card and just change to the year plan?
@StephHorvath2 жыл бұрын
That’s a good question I want to know the answer to. Did you do it? What happened? Did you need a new sim or not? I just joined for 3 months and would like the year plan.

Hey Everton, you've won me over - first, by being modern, and up to date, which I am NOT. But more so, by trying (and actually being ABLE TO) help out your folks. My folks would never listen me, so I gave up. Your straight has me convinced. Only, I would buy for 12 months, if I would only buy for three, in case they go out of business in the mean while as Montgomery Wards did to me. And you are not like these folks that just blow money out their .... you are CHEAP like me. So I trust you all the more. THANKS!!!!

Added a Mint SIM/Number for use with a HomeFlex router by Glocalme. Initially this worked really well. The SIM was added on my family plan. Recently all data stopped on the HomeRouter solution. No APN settings changes have resolved the data-halt. Calling MintMobile returns the statement, “We only support phones and not Home Router solutions.” Glocalme support was great, but clearly couldn’t help the clear agreement/contract T-Mobile and MintMobile have. Just a vent. Likely accepting using an old droid phone left plugged in to service my home internet needs. Unfortunately my wired home devices have no solution. Now to find a router that can be a hotspot client while also serving Ethernet ports. 😉 Thoughts?
@H4x0r182 жыл бұрын
Configure a router to run as a wireless bridge to your phone's hotspot. The ethernet ports on the router will connect your ethernet devices to the internet.
@shanefoss17312 жыл бұрын
The cellar router lacks an ‘IP through’ function which of needed to make this bridge solution work. They are using multiple means to prevent common known trivial work arounds. I just went back to Comcast.

I just switched my 3 lines from AT&T to Mint yesterday. I'm really hoping service is good (good so far) because I'm looking forward to my bill being 1/3 of what it was. I ported all 3 numbers. Each one failed with AT&T texting a security code that needed to be replied before they would release the number. This was different/in addition to the porting pin needed. Still, porting the numbers only took minutes. But make sure you leave your old sim in so you can get those texts. All 3 phones were unlocked models. A Pixel 4a and Pixel 6 Pro worked without issue. A Galaxy S20 FE 5G wouldn't get any service with Mint. Mint support had me switch the phone to 2G and it worked on that. They told me to switch it back after 2 hours. I left it on 2G overnight, but this morning we switched it back to Auto and it is now working! Just throwing that out there in case it helps anyone.

Thank you sooooo much for your videos on Mint Mobile!! I had never heard of them and was already thinking of going to a prepaid plan to save money. When I saw your videos, I checked them out and they were less expensive than any other prepaid or my current post paid account through T Mobile on a family plan. I was paying over $300.00 a month for 5 lines of service through T Mobile, and like you, I didn't have any issues with T Mobile as a service, except the monthly cost was killing me. I easily ported three of the five lines via eSim (no physical sim card needed) since three of our phones are newish iPhones and I'm waiting for the physical sim cards for the other two android (Samsung) phones. All told, I am going from $300.00 a month to roughly $90 a month by picking up annual plans on all five lines. That's an incredible savings!!!!! Again, thank you for these videos!! You are a lifesaver!

you had mentionedint doesn't save the call or text history? same with web traffic? wouldn't the app responsible for letting me make phone calls or texts on my phone do that? and wouldn't my search engine save my history if I have that selected in the SE settings?
@evertonsway2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the app does keep record of it. There are times where you may need to provide call history for record keeping and if for some reason the app is deleted you lose your phone or any other scenarios. By law phone companies are required to keep those records, they just don’t provide it back to the end users via app or site

Mint is amazing.. My parents and other family members are on it, BUT the deal breaker for me is the streaming resolution. I'm not a 4K streamer, but there's a reason most modern phones have high resolution screens( and yes, they(phone manufacturers) charge an arm and a leg for those features). I know you found a way around this issue, but that defeats the point of paying a low rate for cell service. Thanks for the updates, and I appreciate all your videos and your channel. @@rosesnthrones9544 Usually the phone manufacturer/reatiler has an option for insurance and their are some 3rd party options like Akko that are pretty reasonable. I don't expect Mint will get into the insurance area anytime soon so not an option that way. For me if I needed a nicer phone for work/business would rather go through a 3rd party who does not profit beyond your premiums/deductibles when deciding claims.
