The Delta Arena (retro halo play) is one of the best things Halo Studios has done. All my friends that don’t even play infinite love to play it because it feels like OG Halo. same here. i honestly wont even try new halo games unless they've let the PBMM be more relaxed. PBMM should only be somewhat strict while playing ranked matches. otherwise it should basically be randomized as to who you fight, rather than determined by how well you're playing. that's one of the key features to making Halo fun to play.

I think all Arena Objective gametypes should be under Quickplay again. Having a separate playlist means that the population is limited to only those who are specifically seeking objective games and you miss out on the majority of casual players who just go into Quickplay. Basically means when population is low, you have to play slayer.

Finishing up and adding in the Crushers sounds interesting to me, because I heard the ultimate reason why they were cut was because they weren’t fun to fight. If there are plans to drop them into the game eventually, hopefully HS will find some way to remedy that.

So I learned that there seems to be some kind of skill gap limit to non-ranked matchmaking with friends. Four of us consistently couldn’t get a match together, we’d get a ‘unable to join’ error. As soon as we split we all found matches. So that was weird, then we tried pairing two and two and found matches. I’m diamond 5-6 and my buddy is diamond 1, and we could get matches together in casual duos and quickplay. The other two buddies who are silver, gold could get matches together. But as soon as we did any combination of the top two and the lower two we could not get a single goddamn game, matchmaking would seemingly find a game, loading map would get stuck at 0%… ‘unable to join.’ We tested this for hours and it is definitely somehow related to SBMM, even in quickplay. I love Halo, but I hate this goddamn game so much

Unrelated, I feel like they should drop small updates on future games while in development so if they have an idea for a new feature they can get some feedback before they put all the work into it. I feel like that’d be easier for the dev team so there won’t be a repeat of halo infinites delay when the first trailer dropped.

I remember in 1st grade showing my buddies the out of map strats and the skull on the halo 2 Mombasa mission that I had found myself without KZbin. The Delta Arena playlist just confirmed a big thing for me: take out sprint (+slide), clamber, and size down the maps accordingly (w jump height in consideration), and it instantly feels, looks, and plays so much more like a new Halo game. Still issues with the engine, weapon sandbox, etc, but those are technically niche fine tuning issues compared to Halo's core mobility. Just proved to me and my friends that it's not just bullshit, it's the real deal: Halo cannot move forward as Halo until 343 able and willing to identify and address it. Simple as. Glad it has been kept in, but it is going to naturally get old unless it gets new dedicated maps.

A good stepping stone moving forward to cull the amount of cheaters is to completely do away with F2P games. Unless you're going to be like DE with Warframe and be incredibly strict about it, just get rid of any ideas for a F2P model. All it does is encourage people to just profile hop to keep ruining the game. And while it may suck for people who don't have a lot of cash, it's just an unfortunate side effect that companies who are not 100% serious about no cheaters, are never going to do much about the situation until they get a lot of push back about it.

I love the free armour in the operation pass if for the mirage core and not mostly for the mk7 core, needs to have more operations with armour for different cores, like eagle-strike etc. alternative would be cross-core knee's and chest armour (as well as hip and wrist).

I was curious, so I looked at the Fireteam Raven manuals. The PC hardware looks to be similar to a small-form tower, office PC with some graphics capabilties. The software side is complicated. No obvious operating system and its probably all Raw Thrills' proprietary software and/or arcade-specific spftware they'd licensed.
