I fully agree with your MCC needing updates, not porting as-is, numerous important immersion breaking bugs exist, like take Halo 4's defence turrets on the asteroid base mission, they are pivotal to the story, but a scripting error stops them from firing as they should like on the Xbox 360 copy of the game, so the master chief technically fails his mission to turn them on making the story not make sense with the UNSC base being able to evacuate, as those guns still aren't working despite you turning them on.

As much as the community views it as a self-sustaining celebration as the glory days, most folks (including me, if I'm honest) see it as a ten year old collection of twenty year old game. There's graphical bugs and immersion breaking glitches, but I think aside from actual security issues, they probably have no more interest in patching it up. Like, if they had some update cooking in combination with the ports, then they probably would've tried to communicate it with the digsite team, rather than letting it explode over a lack of support. Like, they're finally ditching blam, which (as slipspace) was an albatross for Infinite's development. From what I recall from previous videos, the MCC fix team (the guys who worked hard to implement stuff like seasons, flood firefight, et cetera) were all contractors, so the folks who knew how to fix MCC are gone. MS probably has zero desire to go back and retrain new people for an engine they themselves have ditched (or rather, multiple versions used in multiple games) to fix graphics bugs. Here's the thing, if Halo MCC as it currently exists, comes out on Switch and PS5 and isn't liked.. a graphics bug on the second-to-last level of the game that not even Halo fans like that much isn't going to be the reason. It's that Switch and PS5 fans with zero nostalgia for Halo just don't care about wandering down memory lane (for a series they themselves didn't historically play).

Consider the fact that none of the characters are compelling outside of the fact that they are Spartans, they're also dumb enough to steal a banished smart AI despite what happens during Halo 5 with AI taking over military technology easily is a 🤡🧠 move. What they should have done was give us two missions defending the infinity one as Master Chief and one as our Spartan. By playing as Master Chief this gives them the option to introduce three new Spartans that are the equivalent of the blue team for the Spartan 4s, same thing with our Spartans this way there's a buildup with this next generation of Spartans vs what we got. The first two seasons there's barely any lore barely anything happening or compelling for our Spartans at the new Academy smh

I’m more interested in the Halo Infinite Sequel. I still think a Halo 1 remake is unnecessary & a waste of resources. Just stick to Halo Infinite 2(or Halo 7). I still want a decent rematch against Atriox and to know what the Endless are. Also we need more DLC weapons, 3rd person mode, & vehicles for Halo Infinite’s campaign. It’s really annoying that they keep ignoring the campaign.

Halo was a generation defining game. I play MCC and H:CE mods weekly if not daily. The fanbase for Halo is rabid and vibrant, it just needs to be properly tapped into. Halo Studios is sitting on top of a massive oil field and they can’t build a drill to save their lives, despite having drilling experts like Mint Blitz and HiddenXperia handing them blueprints every day.

There’s 55,000 people on the ranked leaderboard. Probably 2-3x the ranked population in social. The majority of Halo’s player base is still on console and therefore not included on the steam count. Population is still very low, but not as bad as the steam charts make it seem.

Whatever they do it NEEDS to be optimized, especially in UE5 and I cannot stress that enough. If they aren’t gonna take the time and resources to make sure that these projects are optimized and have a smooth launch then they can go ahead and cancel them rn and toss it in the vault.

Lack of content is a bigger point of contention and overblown monetization. 343's major lack of respect for the source material. It's not like Halo 3/4/5 ever had issues with optimization. Hell Halo Infinite graphics basically mimic the style of the Halo 5 Beta with just better armor skins. It's not like the engine ever had any real problems. It was built for halo. It is halo. Unreal will have its own issues it's just that the studio and at this point the community feel better being able to draw from a large pool of low cost devs which is exactly what unreal wants.

I don't see this talked about much, but with the Flood Blight Lands, it just runs me the wrong way. In H3 the flood spores on the walls were dynamic, they would move and you could shoot them to explode. Rhe flood biome they showcased just looks flat. It is disgusting, but we don't see flood germs dripping, we don't see it being very dynamic so it has me worried

@felt7731 Destiny 2 uses Blam! still, although its now known as Tiger Engine, kinda the same way Blam! was developed into Slipspace Engine for Halo, it seems Bungie was more successful in still using Blam! (Tiger Engine) now, at least i don't think there are as many bugs with it compared to Halo Infinite, but they probably finished the engine work before releasing the game.

Performance and optimization is as good or bad as devs want it to be, but thats all game engines. (See cyberpunk at launch vs doom games at launch. different engines with different releases) the big thing is that UE5 has recently been updated with a huge update that fixed a lot of stuff. so games made with it now that may release in 2 years should be great. the games that started development a few years ago and released the past year or two have suffered a lot.

7 years between release from Halo Infinite and its sequel is simply ridiculous. It'll be 5 years since we even got another game in the franchise if the CEA remake and Project Euthanasia launch next year like you predict. I have no more hope for this franchise. Halo Infinite was its last hope, and it came so close but fell flat on its fucking face by being completely feature stripped compared to last games. Getting Assault as a game mode 4 years after launch says everything. Halo's audience is getting older and starting to care less and less about the games. Too much speculation and not enough confirmation in this franchise its so grading after a while, it makes me personally not care about any of this until i hear actual confirmation from a source thats not Rebs Gaming lmao. No offense to him he does a lot more work than Halo Studios or 343 when it comes to communication, but thats not where I’m trying to get info from because that stuff can change on a dime in this industry. Hearing about Halos battle royal for 3 years at this point is just crazy to me. The speed of litigation is how fast this franchise is moving and it’s not sustainable at all. 7 years possibly between mainline games? Or even another chance with a reboot because these devs suck at taking criticism without completing dropping what they were previously doing. Whether it’s story or gameplay wise criticism from the fans. Idk man I’ve been playing since 2001 and it just doesn’t seem to wanna stop going down hill. I genuinely hope whatever is next is complete and polished at launch and exciting for more than a week, because this franchise, devs, and fans need a morale boost bad. We all need a fat W. And if the next thing is possibly a CE remake with no multiplayer nobody wants that. Cool you can make a campaign but what about the net code for the possible Halo Infinite sequel. Try and get everything in on your first game on a new engine especially in a remake or reimagining so the new game can thrive. Because if you nail the net code and all the day one features we expect from Halo games in a CE remake then you will have the most solid foundation to work off of for the future of the franchise. I understand unreal is supposed to speed the process up & hopefully it does because constant reboots, long waits between releases, and unfinished games will be the death of this holy grail of a franchise.

As cool as a Halo CE remake would be, I’d rather the story move forward from where we left off in Halo 5 and Halo Infinite, I think instead of a CE remake just do a unified Halo trilogy remake Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3 (and maybe a ODST DLC) all built around the same engine, gameplay mechanics and art style, the story would basically be one to one with the original games, and the new multiplayer would utilize assets from all three stories.

@ I only said 3 at one time, and those would be in the form of three separate campaigns with a single shared multiplayer, with ODST as a possible DLC later down the line, that way they could share assets across all three stories without having to redesign everything (aside from in universe design changes like Chiefs upgrade from MK5 to MK6 armor), The “5th” game is actually the one I want made first before any remakes are considered at all, and it would be Halo 7, the direct sequel to Halo Infinite, continuing the story line of that game and possibly tying up some of the loose ends from the end of Halo 5.

I believe the forerunners use time travel to send the endless to the future to deal with them later, this is why Master Chief and the weapon went missing for 3 days at the end of Infinite. Using time travel this way is less messy, as you don't deal with the past.

Unless its a part of an MCC remaster/remake hybrid onto Unreal Engine that has all the Digsite content integrated into it, restores the original vision that Bungie had, and makes use of a lore friendly unified HUD, Sandbox, and Forge, with custom games browser, and integrated Mod browser covering Reach to Infinite then the Halo CE remake is a waste of time and money for customers, developers, and investors alike PERIOD!

My takeaways: -can't say I care much for battle royales or extraction shooters -if a Halo CE remake is indeed in the works, it will be interesting but I'm also cautious about the whole prospect -if Halo's gonna do time travel shenanigans, it HAS to be something like what they did in Marathon Infinity. Time travel is messy and can cause all sorts of problems to a story. If they want to explain WHY people can't just go back and undo things, there has to be very real, clear consequences such as unravelling the fabric of reality or creating a hellscape where factions from across space and time are in perpetual warfare with one another as the universe collapses and constantly reforms around them. You throw in stakes like that, then yeah, don't abuse time travel -Master Chief Collection is most certainly not done and I hope to high hell they don't quit completely on it. The undignified end of Digsite was a painful loss and there's still quite a few things missing from original Xbox and Xbox 360 versions of the games, such as Halo 2 classic's lighting and a theatre mode that lets you rewind campaign playthroughs (seriously, why is that not a feature in MCC, YOU HAVE IT FOR MULTIPLAYER) For now, I'll do what I've always done: wait and see (and look forward to cool mod releases)

The game in general is much more expanded now, and I understand why people were disappointed with what was available at launch (I liked it though). What is sad is that it is so few players now compared to before so it takes quite a while to find games, even at my low lvl.

That's a stupid fuckin idea lmao. Halo's universe would be far more convoluted and will have to be split into different continuity timelines.. which is something 343 should GREATLY prevent. I can understand not being the biggest fan of the Forerunner retcon, but honestly, it's not that big of a deal. Disposing 343 lore would be a monumental mistake, you're trashing 80% of the fucking lore.. like do you have any idea how many stories 343 have added? Clearly not. It's almost downright offensive to hear someone call themselves a "halo fan" and voice support for halo being basically split in half... which is far worse than any retcon bungie or 343 has ever done.

If the are doing the CE Remake and Halo 7, could they be laying the foundations for the Resident Evil release model, where they release CE Remake, Halo 7 (The Endless or whatever they name it) a few years later, then Halo 2 remake, then Halo 8, etc.? That's what it feels like to me. Much in the same way it was RE7, RE2 Remake, RE3 Remake, RE Village, RE4 Remake. Maybe it's two simultaneous project trajectories. Remakes of the previous games along with continuations in the story.
