Call of Brine, it only does an additional 3.75 charges worth of damage now which is really bad. Since you can only kick a gen 8 times now, call of brine should have a stronger regression rate or should be applied to all kinds of regression

I’d argue that Insidious SHOULD be the Lethal Pursuer of Stealth perks, but reverse. Instead of extending insidious effects by a couple of seconds, I think it’d be cool that it would make your killer undetectable at the start of the match until you find/injure someone

@@anakinskinwalker1724 Tombstone takes longer, because there is a TR warning people of his presence. Even in SWF, its quite difficult to find a Myers proper if he doesnt have his TR active. You can actually do something to that effect on a few maps, a bit depending on RNG, but if you stand still on, for example the second floor of Eyries, and stalk. Insidious will actually activate. You can turn around too, as long as you dont touch your wasd or let go of your m2 it keeps working. You'd be surprised at how effective that is compared to when you dont use Insidious. Because people run past you, hear the TR and warn other players to stay out of your vision. But if they just hear the t1 to t2 and they dont spot you, they wont find out where you are.

That's kinda the point, it will be a perk that beginners can have in their build so at the very least they learn how many times Killers have aura reading perks. For example, to prevent BBQ, nowhere to hide, etc... Object is still viable because it reveals the killers aura, so it doesn't make object irrelevant!

Not many know this but in the Sable italian ptb invocations used to make you permanently exposed instead of broken in the description of the perk and i think they should bring that concept back as this type of perk is not worth the price you pay.

Honestly I think that would be a much better idea it doesn't leave you broke in the entire match but you are still basically one shot. The only complaint I could probably see people making is that it screws over Killers that use their powers to get downs because they won't proc the exposed. But let's be honest Killers who heavily use their powers hits for Downs like nurse, blight are usually top tier killers so it's not like they need it

An interesting idea for a "Red Herring rework" is to make it activate when you miss a skill check. After reparing a total of 75% of generator progress Red Herring Activates. When activated if you miss a skill check the loud noise notification is moved onto a different generator which is currently not being repaired. After being used the perk goes on a 2 minute cooldown. Making the perk re-route the killer away from the current objective AND as a "protection" perk for when you screw up. With a bit of tweaking red herring like this could become one of the best distracting perks in the game. But what do you all think

It would still make certain areas absolutely obnoxious and make finding the totem practically a requirement. For example the main building of the asylum would be a nightmare to deal with and ironically enough if you didn't bring shattered hope they could keep relightng the Boon and running to the place in question when chased( like with the example the asylum) It's going to lead to an awkward situation where the time spent dealing with the Perk every time it gets put back up is actively detrimental to the Killer however leaving it up is much the same so the killer is damned if they do and damned if they don't

Undone isn’t bad in theory, it’s a fun idea, but good players just don’t miss. Unbound however, needs a buff. It needs either a haste number buff from like 5% to 8-10%, or it needs the “activates for 30s” to be increased/turned off so that it is active until used. BUT NOT BOTH. It needs one of the two ideas but if it both activated for longer AND gave a more significant impact it would teeter on OP. Red Herring is fine, people just don’t know how to use it. You have to work a generator away from your friend/High progress gen to distract the killer away, DO NOT use it to bring the killer to your friend or the gen you are actually trying to do. For instance, a build could be (red herring, bardic [so you don’t have to work the good gen if you have it ready], prove thyself, and some more perks that I’m sure I can’t think of rn)

agree with red Herring, could get some tweaks, but it is not bad as everyone tells, you go into a distant generator, and use it to bring the killer away from your friends. as for undone, not even good players, if you are average mmr survivor already, it is VERY rare to miss skill check that easy.

My idea for Insidious would be that it would be an early game mechanic and then a strong mid game ability where at the start of the match, you gain undetectable until you hit a survivor, and then after you hook a survivor, you again get undetectable until you hit someone.

I think a good rework for invocation treacherous crows could be that when a survivor sets off a crow within the killers terror radius it will set off every crow within the killers terror radius. Making crows an unreliable information tool that could even trick good killers into checking distraction crows.

IDK how hot of a take this is, but I really want the totem breaking effect from Shattered Hope to be made partially base kit. I say partially because I think it'd be great if killers could choose whether or not they want to simply extinguish the boon or break the totem. That way if the killer's running a hex build with toggleable perks like Two Can Play or Face The Darkness, they wouldn't be sabotaging themselves like if they ran Shattered Hope how it currently functions. Then Shattered Hope could be reworked completely to give it some other totem-related effect without having it centered entirely around the chance of running into boons.

As the number 1 Dark Theory glazer, I want to speak on this real quick. The problem with Made for This was never the 3% Haste effect itself, even though it was strong. The problem with MFT was that you got that haste effect whenever you were injured, meaning that if you wanted to, you could permanently have that Haste for the remainder of the game whenever you got injured. Making Dark Theory have 3%, or I could argue even 4% Haste would be balanced because not only is it stuck in a certain place that is reliant on RNG, but it also can be broken. Buff Dark Theory while keeping its effect so it’s synergy with Shadow Step as a chase boon can be kept.

The reason that Circle of Healing was dumb and overpowered was because your placement didn’t matter, a survivor went there, healed, and then left. All other boons rely on placement to get a good amount of value, that’s why chase boons will still be balanced if they are buffed, they rely on thinking ahead

It was annoying and frustrating to deal with because it practically kneecapped the hit and run play style which a lot of killers relied on. Then because you could continuously reapply the Boon the time the killer constantly had to spend dealing with it built up and what a lot of people tend to forget is the time of the killer is more valuable than the time of one Survivor. Let's see it took you 6 seconds to locate the boon and 2 seconds to Snuff it out that is a total of 8 seconds while you might be thinking that doesn't equal to the amount of time it took the place it you would be wrong. The 8 seconds that that killer spent dealing with the totem is 8 seconds then not dealing with survivors. That means 8 seconds of the survivors being free to do what they want without pressure healing, gens and more. Now note that I said survivors not Survivor. A survivor doing something of value added to the collective survivor objectives meaning 8 Seconds of each survivor being on a gen is overall 32 seconds of generator progression to the five gen being completed. This is why I said The Killers time is way more valuable than the survivors the killer not interacting with survivors for 10 seconds is translated into 40 seconds of the survivors of having free time. That's me just delving into the annoying survivor retort of "it only took 2 seconds to Snuff out" Moving on to the hit and run a playstyle Killers this was a playstyle Incorporated by the weaker tier Killers these were the killers that were heavily affected more by the free constant healing. (Wraith, Legion and others) All committed his playstyle because chasing in certain areas was not optimal leaving them injured and downing them later was better. However when a perk basically gave every survivor a unlimited medkit it meant that the head and run strategy was significantly weaker. Not only did it increase the chance of the person you left healing but it also meant that they didn't have to take up another survivor's time to heal them ( which was another benefit of the hit and run strategy because it meant you could use healing to waste a time of two different survivors) Anyone who says that the issue with circle of healing was just with survive with friends either never knew the actual underlying issue or is being wilfully ignorant.

Fun fact: Undone, on top of being bad both when it's working and when it isn't, is also bugged, as if you apply its effects to a generator, it counts as two gen regression events, meaning that generator gets blocked from further regression twice as fast (four kicks rather than eight, if you kick the gen with Undone having tokens each time).

Killer main hot take - Survivor vault speed bonus is strong and killers don’t really have any equivalent ‘longer lunge range on demand through windows/pallets’ and faster vault speed for killers is definitely not the equivalent as you generally want to hit a survivor while they’re vaulting not follow them by vaulting slightly quicker, I think the perks at the moment are fine. And a survivor centric hot take - Boons and Invocations both need a rework, they’re too weak in general, it seems to me like old Circle of Healing with the only thing keeping boons in general (non niche) use, as in the ability for any survivor to self heal at a boon. Also invocations could be reworked to be not as severe, maybe have invocations only require one ritual no matter how many you have and instead of being broken you lose a hook state per invocation successfully completed (So a max of two invocation perks per survivor).

What about instead of breaking the boon, shattered hope let you change the location of a random hex in your build For example: if you see your ruin right by a generator across the map you can go to a dull totem and light it with the pentimento animation, snuffing the previous location If it was a boon totem you still have the ability stomp it and by effect of the perk one of your hexes takes the boons place

Sole Survivor doesn’t only work when your team is sacrificed. It works when you’re the ‘Last Survivor Standing’. This is when you’re the only survivor not on a hook or in the dying state. Pretty useful perks now that that term has been redefined.

your fix for spine chill is literally just half of object of obsession. deadline not being in this list is nuts, you get 10% more skill checks ONLY when injured and for this huge bonus you get random skill locations and less penalty for failure. The bonus is so dumb its strictly worse than Resilience in literally every way. The perk is so infuriatingly useless its just BHVR not even applying a basic level of logic, its clearly just mailed in to meet a deadline. Stored Energy is also dogcrap. Why do you lose the stacks when hit? it takes forever to get the stacks and you have to in the course of over a minute on a generator and then the time running to the next on hope you dont get hit, and you cant even use it if you are in an injured state. These are two perks where the juice is completely not worth the squeeze.

Ngl most of the time when people talk about "design" they are out of their element. Majority of these just have niche uses or are just bugged which people correlate with "bad". Insidious, Treacherous Crows, and Beast Of Prey are the only badly designed ones on here. Spine Chill wasn't a badly designed perk it's just bad now. All they had to do was make the detection range lowered from 36M. It's kind of survivors whispers. Dark Theory also isn't bad either it's designed purposely to be used in conjunction with other boons, and can be frustrating to deal with when it works. Shattered hope also isn't a badly designed perk ; It's a release valve to keep boons in check. HOWEVER it's origin was cause the OVERREACTION to Boons.

I had an ideas for both Territorial Imperative and Beast of Prey For Territorial Imperative, I would rework it to this Once a Survivor is in the basement for more than 30 seconds, they become exposed for as long they are in the basement and the effect persist for 10 seconds after leaving the basement. Once they are exposed, the killer gets a loud notification sound and the auras of the survivor(s) are revealed to you for 4/5/6 seconds and Killer Instinct activates for 4/5/6 seconds. This would really punish those who use those Invocation perks and those who hide in the basement when there is 2 survivors standing or just waiting for the EGC. Survivors can still make it out of the basement against certain killers with the original Territorial Imperative, but with this rework, it makes it so much harder and more punishing for them abandoning their teammates because unless you are doing a Invocation, you should not be in the basement for that long. Also Killer Instinct is added because people could run Distortion and bypass the aura reading. The perk just makes sure the basement well protected and very dangerous. For Beast of Prey, I had a few ideas and I'm not sure if its busted or not Idea 1: Reduce the time it is required to increase Bloodlust tiers by 3/4/5 seconds. This is a Huntress perk which she is a 4.4 killer so it goes well with her to help her speed up quicker and catch her prey when in chase. Idea 2: Instead of gaining a movement speed bonus from Bloodlust, gain the following effects when tiering up Bloodlust. Tier 1: Undetectable status effect. Tier 2: See the aura of the current chased survivor(s). Tier 3: Current chased Survivors are inflicted with the exposed status effect. These effects go away when you lose chase or down the survivor and the perk goes on cooldown for 60/45/30 seconds. I like the idea of messing with Bloodlust since its such a untouched mechanic. The only perks that deal with bloodlust are Beast of Prey and Rapid Brutality which Rapid Brutality gets rid of it for movement speed with attacks. Idea 3: Both of those ideas combined, but add back the movement speed bonus and just make Bloodlust crazy. Though I'm not entirely sure how well balance it would be to add all those effects into one perk, but it's the only thing I could think of to keep with the theme of the perk.

Make shattered hope base kit, and change it to be actually useful, like everytime a gen is completed survivors get a reduced repair rate temporarily, and then when all gens are finished the killer gets like a permanent 2% haste buff or something idk.

If shattered hope was base kit then you can vastly boost the power budget of Boons since Boon perks will have a 5 lives ( not counting if any of your teammates straight up destroy totems or penta which can increase or decrease that number accordingly) Would it be a shadow buff penta yes but it also means you can vastly buff boons. Like I said as it currently stands Boons near constant reapplication is the reason they have to be kept in check. If you take that away you can make them stronger

SpineChill doesn't mean you are oblivious to your surroundings or what's happening. It's just a feeling of being in a very eerie situation or place telling you it's not safe . It's more of a don't know why, but uneasy feeling. You can look into a dark forest in broad day, and get an eerie feeling hmm idk what's down there, but I should stay away. What you described in a premonition these two are VERY similar.

It’s kinda funny you put sole survivor here today. So I was running hoarder/human greed/franklins/weave in bone chill with mistletoe. If everyone brings one, that means I have 10 chests I can see people with. If they try to open them, I know immediately, and can close them. One person who survived one of the games had sole survivor, which I couldn’t even recognize. Was kinda funny they managed to escape and evade me because of that perk, since distortion gets consumed too quickly, even if it used the old method. To be clear though, not saying it’s a great perk. @@Mario-SunshineGalaxy64 Sometimes the snowmen bug out and become immortal. This usually happens from different elevations. The place I see it most is at the game where there are immortal floating snowmen. So that is what could be happening in that clip.

Object reveals your aura anytime the killer's aura is revealed, so you use that perk as an "aggresive" distortion! Spine Chill would be the most basic one, where it tells you that your aura is revealed but instead of you seeing the killer, you get an even strongest boost to actions, so it would play in a different way!

I still think This Is Not Happening is so stupid lmao. I get its purpose but needing to be injured for it to activate AND it doesn’t increase the progress of skill checks- just makes the bonus size bigger- is pointless unless a whole build is made around it just for it to have some value. There have been so many times where I looked at it and went “I might be able to- oh wait… yeah no I’ll just run xyz instead.”

I hate Knockout. It’s a horribly designed perk that when killers just leave you slugged for 4 minutes and bleed out there’s nothing you can do. I believe a way to fix it is give it a timer, then your aura can be read by your teammates when it expires.

Even though Territorial Imperative is one of the worst perks ever it provided me with one of the funniest interactions. I needed to use this perk for an Archive so I used it on spirit during the time she was op the last Survivor hides in the Basement and thanks to this perk I found her. The last thing I thought was that perk brought actual value. A true Christmas wonder.

Tbh if we're talking about worst designed I would personally include some of these for similar reasons as knockout Boil over: the best way to get value out of this is to either go to a tall area like eyrie main or form a sabo swf, it just feels like it is designed for toxic swfs to abuse as otherwise it can be pretty mediocre, also the blocking of nearby hook auras just feels incredibly mean since it will mainly effect new killers rather then experienced ones Breakdown: again the best way to get value out of this is to go find an area with very few hooks and intentionally get hooked there to create a deadzone for 3 entire minutes, this is also something that pairs well with boil over as you can make yourself unhookable in certain spots, similarly to boil over it feels like a perk toxic swfs would use as otherwise it's very mid Noed: my reasoning is similar to otzdarva's video on it, noed can often result in someone getting kills they normally wouldn't wich will artificially boost your kill rate and before you know it you're in an mmr far above what would be right for you, it's been a very consistent pattern that whenever I encounter a killer who seems unusually bad that they will be depending on noed to get the job done, I could say something similar about rancor but at least that perk warns you in advance Remember me: it's like no way out except the effect is significantly weaker and while no way out encourages someone to go for unique hooks remember me encourages tunneling the obsession out, this perk needs a rework Devour hope: this one is kind off weird, it's designed to be a game derailing perk wich will either get cleansed before it can do anything or derail the game beyond repair, the problem is it has a lot of problematic elements it causes, once you know devour is in play at least one person will have been downed by it and you may have to let them die on hook to prevent the killer from reaching 5 tokens, some killers like xeno also feel like they can too easily take advantage of it by immediatly leaving the hook and going back to camp the totem though that's just my experience using it Prove thyself, deja vu, quick gambit: in an era were gen rushing is such an issue these feel like salf in the wound, if the game had a more refined version of the 2v8 anti snowball mechanic wich adapts to how the game is going for either side then they would be fine, we don't have that though so we're just making the gen rushing issue even worse with these Sole survivor and left behind: should we really be encouraging people to let their team die so they can escape themselves, I get it can be used as a last resort but idk even new players who struggle to find hatch like me when I started are probably better of running info perks like deja bu and kindred wich will help support the team without needing to be good in chase No mither: you get to counter slugging but become a liability the other 99% of the time Slippery meat: why are we encouraging people to immediatly go second stage and gamble on a low percent chance? Resurgence: we making resets almost instant now, and bhvr wonder why the 4 man slug meta has become such an issue Background player: okay to be fair this is more of a personal thing as I've only ever seen one type of player use this, the ones who will stalk the killer the whole game to try and deny them even a single pick up Scene partner: okay I actually quite like the stegulls but otz said he finds them annoying so I have to mention it here Anyways these are just my opinions, some of these I would definitly not defend as hard as others like how resurgence won't do much against tunneling but others do feel very poorly designed and could use a rework

The issue with the Spine Chill rework is that it is way too similar to OoO. The only difference is that OoO forces you to reveal your aura to the killer every 30s (so you can read theirs) while you're the Obsession. If you're not the Obsession, it's quite literally identical save for your version of Spine Chill not revealing the aura. It's much too similar and justifying it with "new players should have access to it" isn't necessarily a good answer. While I agree that it would be good to include some having-your-aura-read effect, I think it would be better to just remove the "line-of-sight" requirement to make it a proper counter to Undetectable/Oblivious effects and then have an auditory cue when your aura is read. Put the aura-read effect on a 60 second cooldown to allow some counterplay from the Killer and leave breathing room for OoO if you want much more consistent information.

My only two wish for Treacherous Crows is have all invocations be done on one button like boons and actually make the crows betray the killer. I think once completed when a killer should see your aura instead if a crow is undisturbed and near you it gets revealed instead. Sorta like spies from the shadow mixed with distortion.

As for dark theory, I think better effect is: you recover from negative effects 100% faster and can recover exhaustion while running. It would be massive buff for this boon.

Rework Concept for Undone Whenever a generator is damaged by any means gain 1 token up to a maximum of (11/13/15) when a generator is kicked it lose 1% additional progress per token. (Tokens are no longer lost when kicking a generator, This Perk no longer cause generators to be blocked by the entity.) Reduce the amount of regression events per generator to 5. (was 8). After kicking a generator this perk goes on cooldown for 25/20/15s.

My only problem with changing Insidious is that I... kinda really like how it works right now? Because I use it in meme specific builds. And it's fun that way. I specifically use it on Dracula but I only use Wolf form while it's equipped. Wolf form is relatively quiet and difficult to see when shrouded in bushes, so he's actually the perfect killer to camp corners and jump out at people with. It's surprisingly effective. IMO, leave Insidious as is but add more universal perks in general, survivor desperately needs more free content to incentivize new players. I wouldn't mind an additional effect though.

I think that Trecherous Crows should, in addition to its current effect, make it so that survivors no longer startle crows. That way you can at least run around in chase without getting rid of your main benefit.

I might get shit on for this opinion but I strongly disagree with Knock Out, the Teamwork perks and Sole Survivor. Their designs are good for what they're set out to do. Yeah, you might not like it, but I try to see the bigger picture. Variety is good, niche specialized perks are great. The way I see it, perks are meant there to enhance specific strategies(you don't have to like these strategies), they are not the core of the game. If a perk is too unpopular, it can be a bad thing but not as problematic as when a perk is universaly good to the point it's used every time. Perks are meant to be used at different situations, parties and skill levels. From the perks I mentioned Knock Out can have some numbers tweaked to be less frustrating on the survivor end, but the design is pretty cool imo. And Sole Survivor should only gain a stack if the survivor sacrificed was helped by you at some point. Health state healed, safely unhooked, etc. Would make it healthier and discourage selfish passive boring gameplay. The rest of the list I agree that they could be changed for the better, BHVR needs to improve. Also Dark Theory I think it is fine, but it should have an additional effect of extending the Boon AoE, to enhance the stacked Boons, making Dark Theory a Boon enhancer perk

The fact the only way to get consistent value from Treacherous crows is to all run Calm Spirit and hope the killer isn't a stealth one ... which essentially means the team is all player down less optimal builds for the sake of minor value. I honestly don't know how you could fix it because if you make it so say whenever a crow is disturbed in chase whether by the killer or survivor, it makes it a bit too strong while still having a redundancy because if the killer is in chase you know where the killer is, but it would make looping a lot easier for the one in chase. Also, I don't really get the name because disturbing crows already gives away your position; all this does it give it away more. I want more Invocation perks and I am okay with them not being all stackable like boons because they are map wide permanent effects for the remainder of the match. So, if they add certain stronger ones, it would be terrible to have them all stack. Boons are limited to a specific area, the killer can cancel them, so having them all stack in one go is fine. Right now it is silly because Weaving Spiders is decent to good while Treacherous Crows is hotdog water, so it weird they can't stack. But, imagine is the next invocation is stronger than Weaving Spiders, do you really want it to stack with it? There are a few ways they can fix this. Like each invocation perk decreases the time to cast invocations or subsequent invocations. Say your first invocation is a Minute, but any after than is 30 or 45 seconds. Or dividing Invocations into Major and Minor Invocations where Major must be done separately and Minor are stackable with Major and Minor. Because if they all stack and are super strong, killers have little counter play because even killing the Invoker doesn't remove the effects from the Invocation.

I think another perk you should have mentioned is "Premonition". What it does is give you a sound notification every time you see the killer... and that's it. The worst of all is that it has a 30 second cooldown! What's the point of receiving notification of the killer's location when you can see them yourself? Furthermore, in chase it will be activated all the time without helping you in any way.

I also think Invocations should have separate downsides depending on the effect, instead of all making you Broken- for instance, I tried to design an Invocation for a character I really like: Invocation: Assured Perfection is a Unique Perk belonging to Kayce DeTroja. No matter what harmony you are tuned to, the words of a higher Corevocatrix always comfort you when you're in doubt. [Standard Invocation description] Once the Invocation is completed, the following effects apply: -All Survivors gain the Endurance Status Effect for 3/4/5 seconds. (Could probably remove this tbh, it's a little tacked-on and might be annoying to face as a killer) -All other Survivors have their Auras revealed to you in white if they are Healthy, or yellow if they are Injured, for the remainder of the Trial. -Your and the Killer's Auras are revealed to each other for the remainder of the Trial. “Things may seem bleak now. But I know your story to come, and I am in control of the narrative. And that means, so are you.” -Jupiter Jericho

I'm unsure if invocations should actually stack. I feel like the only way invocations can ever be usable on their own is if they have extremely powerful effects on their own, so if invocations can stack, they'd either have to be balanced around running 2-3 at a time which makes the perks kinda pointless on their own and reduces the level of playstyle expression and variety that can be done with them, or if they were balanced so that running 1 was actually usable and decent, having multiple could be broken if all of them can be set up at once, and the optimal play would probably still be to just run like 3 and not try to focus on specialising on a particular area you'd use the invocation for, again reducing playstyle expression and variety. Overall, I think a better design future for invocations would be to make them individually stronger with their own strengths, not making them stack.

Honorary mention for me would be NoEd. Not that the perk itself is badly designed, but I think the playstyle and reliance it creates for killers is bad. I think a simple change would make it more forgiving for baby survivors and solo q survivors. Make it a timed perk, it activates as soon as you hit a survivor and lasts for two or three minutes after that before shutting off. Maybe find a sweet spot of time where you it doesn't feel too oppressive for survivors but also not quick enough for killers so it can still be used, especially for a late game build.

Thing with half of these perks is that they don't have to be "meta" perks or particularly strong. DbD can be a competitive game, but ultimately most players play casually and for fun and not everyone has every character and perk available or thousands of hours into the game, there will always be noobs and beginners so perks designed around them make sense, I still fail Skill Checks at least once per play session. I personally enjoy seeing people running meme builds and just goofing off every now and then, or just BP farming.

I actully find it good that you can only Activate 1 Invocation Perk at the Time. Ohterwise it could get very bussted very Quick when more and Stronger Invocation Perks Drop and I find it interesting that you would have to choose what Invocation you want to Bring in. What I don´t like is that they try to standerlyse the Effects like your always Broken from a Invocation or it always takes 60 Seconds. It didn´t worked well with Boons and it woun´t Work with Invocation. Every Effect need his Own Time and Downside to Balance it Propely.

I would rework Shattered Hope by making the current one as base kit and give new effect. Instead of just boon, you can see all totems placement and destroy them to make survivors screams and reveal their aura for a few seconds. You cannot destroy Hex totem and the totem broken by this perk cannot be rekindled with Pentimento.
