We had a lot of fun in Overwatch for the time it was balanced and cared for. Had our frustrations and unexpectedly great plays, but it was always one of our go to games alongside others like Halo, Gears of War, and GTA Online. I miss those days.

I have 500 hours on overwatch 2. So, I am what I would consider a veteran. I mained genji for 200 of those hours, then my pc broke, so I mained sombra for 300 of those hours on my PS5 (and I got really, really good at her) Then, they nerfed sombra so badly she became unplayable. (There goes my main) Meanwhile, they DIDNT Nerf characters that were CLEARLY broken like moira, mauga, and junkrat. So, with no one to play on ps5 (as they were all too hard to handle), i started anticipating Marvel rivals just a little bit. Then disaster struck. I was playing overwatch 2 in COMPETITIVE mode, and our teams mauga was COMPLETELY throwing. He was going into the enemy backline. He was trying to 1v5, etc. I told him, "You need to stop playing comp. You're throwing the match. This isn't cool" (those exact words) To which he responded, "Stfu n**** I can do what I want." (This was diamond 5 btw, so it was very important that we not have an idiot for a tank) I reported him and called it a day. Then, the NEXT DAY, I get a notification saying I've been BANNED from overwatch 2 until the next update (approx 16 days) because I told the mauga to stop throwing So I promptly un-installed Ow2 and waited for Marvel rivals. I wasn't able to start it on release day, but I started playing 2 days ago, and HOLY SHIT it's awesome. It's clearly an Ow2 rip-off, but it's SO MUCH BETTER than the slop blizzard cooked up. The graphics are insane, the abilities are dynamic and new (not the same/similar boring ones in ow2) The heroes are easy to remember due to the movies. The devs aren't asshats that nerf EVERYTHING except the broken characters, AND I can call my team "throwing" when they are WITHOUT the ban hammer. Marvel rivals is just a sincerely better game than ow2, so... Its been fun ow2, but you've become a corporate greedy bastard with no intention of fixing my main sombra and nerfing the broken characters, and have no intention of bringing back pve OR any fun new content. So I'm permanently sticking with the nearly 1m+ daily player count marvel rivals rather than the measly 30k player count ow2. (Not joking, btw that was the stats in the last 2 hours) Sorry this was a bit long, but that's where I'm at rn

The real culprits are the companies investing in these products that do not care if they lose money, only about trying to ensure that you only have choices of games that have their ideology in it. I really don't understand why people are championing a particular company. Like you said, they aren't your friends, couldn't care less about you and want the maximum amount of your money in exchange for giving you the least amount possible. I've stopped buying games on or near the original release date as inevitably it usually takes about 2-3 months minimum to actually get a game that should be working properly when it's actually released. I'm not really up-to-date with most of the games these days as I'm just playing older games that are free from all the DEI nonsense. I really don't understand why all entertainment companies, including video game companies and movies/TV shows etc are pushing ideas that clearly the consumers are rejecting. At least back in the day you could trust a business to pivot if they were losing money to ensure they actually made a profit but now they seem happy to lose money to push an agenda. I read that it's because those big hedge fund type companies are giving them grants/loans so long as they implement the DEI stuff, but sooner or later that money has to run out doesn't it? When multiple companies are happy to lose money to push some agenda then that seems incredibly suspicious. Do you know what is actually happening regarding that sort of thing as I keep thinking I must be understanding it wrong as why would businesses be happy to lose money and their audience to cater to what one of the Chinese companies said was a "passive audience"? For example, various "activist" types who either don't buy those products or even if all of them do buy it, it's such a small amount of people that it doesn't make a dent in going towards even breaking even.

My only concern is balancing because we already see meta picks for example Hawk Eye is better than Black Widow but the main problem that'll hold the game back would be the cheaters as there's currently a cheating problem with Marvel Rivals.

@@argotic8378 hmm yeah, aside from those two Mr Fantastic entire kit and design has also been leaked, in fact the entire F4 have been leaked from a long time ago, along other character names that seem to be on the files of the game, like Blade, Deadpool, Emma Frost, Modok, etc... And it's true that it has problems with cheaters, but that seems to be normal in a brand new game that's tracking so much attention.

@@pixavier9746 I'm not sure what Anti Cheat Marvel Rivals using but say it's kernel level anti cheat the best in the industry. It still has problems, I've seen many games with similar anti cheat like Arena Breakout Infinite "infested" with cheaters and there's been a multitude of "false bans" associated with Marvel Rivals. Hopefully they figure something out because I hear you get 100+ year ban on the account (Life time ban). I don't think it'll change anything since the games free... The worse thing that can happen is the game being infested with cheaters and that's not to say Overwatch doesn't have cheaters too but of its overwhelming I can see the game dying sooner...

I think it's extremely weird that everyone's pretending that Overwatch 2 was ever a real sequel to begin with. It's not even a re-skin, it's literally the same game, just with a different EULA. 3:45 is actually a false statement, Rivals DOES have a PvE gamemode, it's just not a story mode and more of a practice against ai where you can change the difficulty, so Rivals has a pve mode before Overwatch

I see a lot of comparisons to Midnight Suns... that game has different outfits unlocked based on reputation with the character. The outfits on Magik and pretty much all female characters are based on their comic book outfits / team affiliations. But they also have swimsuits, and casual clothes.

I was an avid D4 fans, so Blizzard too in a sense. Always defending them even when I myself feel unhappy by their decisions about the game. Always telling myself "they would improve this next patch" "next season will be better" etc. Then I jump to PoE 1. And now PoE 2. And now I'm addicted to Marvel Rivals. People dont realize how damaging tryhards really are to a games growth and longevity. A large roster of characters is irrelevant to an opressive meta or having the freedom to choose what guns and perks you want doesn't mean much if your opponent is just gonna dome you in the head with a sniper, even racing games with hundreds of cars will have lobbies filled with the same 1 or 2 cars because people cant stand watching their skill rating go down.

I feel like the removal of purple tokens after each battle pass period is fine. With the ammount of purple tokens gained it means that in the long run, since battle passes dont expire, people who join in later wont be forced to pick which one to unlock, just which one they want to prioritize.

Im a manager of a small ma and pa smoke shop, right down the road from me is another smoke shop backed by a corporate chain, and yet I have personally outdone them in every way shape and form. Better customer service, better prices, better deals, and better variety. My smoke shop didnt become the best smoke shop in my county by just existing. In some cases, we had to lose money just to secure a customer. However, those investments have paid themselves back both consistently, and in abundance. You dont become the best through complacency. In simple reason those big company are too large to manage those studio and fail to see profit loss and never learn from their mistake instead double down as there are people in charge are addicted to LBGTQ and work place abuse.
