Bob Barker and Chuck Norris were neighbors. During the filming of Happy Gilmore, Bob Barker trained with Norris, who lived next door to him at the time. Barker insisted on winning the fight scene against Adam Sandler's character, which led to his request for Norris's help in training for the role.

I love Happy Gilmore. So many great quotes "I want to kiss you all over..." " Hey, you know that 'Mista Mista Lady'? I think I just killed her! "It's all in the hips!" "JACKASS!", "Somebody's closer!" "...I had to hit it off Frankenstein's fat foot, remember?" "...And *you* can count, on me, waiting for you in the parking lot." etc... When it came out, I was a child and living in the country on a farm. There was a large field near our house. When there was no cattle in the field, I would spend time in it, hitting golf balls long distances to see how far I could hit them. I once almost did what Happy Gilmore did when he hit the golf ball across the street towards the house. I hit the ball so far, it flew over a hill and just missed our front living room window and actually hit my dads car as he was pulling into the driveway and he was mad, whoops. Through watching Happy Gilmore, I discovered some songs which would be come some of my favourites including Lynyrd Skynyrd "Tuesdays Gone", Pilot "Magic", Kansas "Carry On My Wayward Son" and Booker T. & The MG's "Green Onions" As this was one of my favourite movies, I am interested to see how the second movie turns out. I don't usually have high hopes for movie sequels that come out many years after the original as there is such a big time gap but, I'll just have to wait and see.

Wherever Florida is 345 feet in elevation must be a part I haven't been to yet. I haven't been to the Redneck Riviera part of Florida yet. You know, the panhandle? It's a big tourist attraction.

Almost a year before this movie came out, my friend who was and still is a computer nerd ate a Snickers bar. He went online to enter a contest, the Snickers wrapper advertised. He won an autographed copy of the Happy Gilmore script. He got it in the mail around Christmas time 5 or 6 months before the movie came out. He tossed it in a corner of his parents' basement. We were preteens when the movie came out and went to see it in theaters no less than ten times. One day, while we were out to eat, he casually mentioned having the script with Sandler's autograph on it. Of course, I called him out. Sure, as poop he brought it out of his parents' basement and showed it to me like it was no big deal. 😅 surreal

A rather interesting fact missing in this video is concerning Adam Sandler's father. His father was an avid golfer. Sandler did a song about his father who had a golf swing that would make men cry. His father also made bets like what we seen in the beginning of the movie when he met Chubbs. The song was a tribute to his father who passed away. It's one of his rare songs that didn't totally stink. Sandler also did a skit about a champion golfer that goes crazy. Sandler was always hit or miss, with unfortunately more misses.

When I was in 8th grade, our teacher was obsessed with golf, and spent an entire semester of gym class teaching us golf, and ending with a field trip to a local course. Most of the class, however, never took the class seriously and just spent most of the class imitating Happy Gilmore, which was a pretty new movie at the time.

Happy Gilmore became a family favourite around my home. The fact that Bob Barker was in it made my grandmother real happy. She even cheered him on when he started beating up Happy Gilmore.
