I liked that he and Janine, the two moat underused characters, got the final scene in Afterlife. But I kinda wish they had stuck with the video game's story about how after Viggo was defeated, he earned his Masters in archaeology and eventually a Doctorate in Egyptology. Instead he apparently just invested his money and got rich. Seemed so generic.

I always saw Winston as the everyman. He was the voice of the audience as a normal person watching these three insane characters around him. It was released before he died. And he never liked the original. @@nilsnyman6767 A month ago I uploaded a little video as a tribute to Hank Deutschendorf. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eX-yoImXqNaLnJuJ It was a video which I did art on PC where I tried to image what if Oscar had appeared in Ghostbusters: Afterlife and who could had played him which I used Evan Peters aka Quicksilver from X-Men. I looked at him and compared him with Sigourney Weaver and baby Oscar from Ghostbusters II and he looks as if he could be baby Oscar all grown up and he could almost be Sigourney Weaver's son. I sent it to Will Deutschendorf, Hank's brother on Facebook and he thought it was a nice tribute to Hank. Never know, Oscar could appear in a possible Ghostbusters 4 which he could become a Ghostbuster. Cool if Evan Peters got cast. I'd be a genius.
I finally saw "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" for the first time a few weeks ago. I LOVED IT! Did not expect to be so emotional during that epic finale. I would say that is a proud success for Ivan and Jason Reitman. Once the news of Ivan Reitman's passing came out, I imagined Harold Ramis welcoming Ivan to the next realm with a huge hug and thanking him for finishing his story in that movie.

You can thank liberal Wokeness. Right now movies are controlled by the major streaming services like Netflix and Disney. Both are extremely liberal, (The Obamas are even on the creative board for Netflix!) Nearly every big movie now has to reach a certain quota despite talent, they needto hit a black quota, gay/lesbian quoata, more recently Asian and also trans or else it's VERY hard for Netflix to approve it. This kills creativity and results in majorly bad casting choices for movies. If you think I'm crazy, go watch the newest Texas Chainsaw Massacre that just came out today on Netflix and it's a Netflix original, you will see EXACTLY what I'm talking about in the first 5 mins.

#MintyComedicArts: Top marks to you, good sir. Having been born in The Bronx back in 1981, I had the great privilege of having THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS be my first piece of pop culture entertainment. I do recall the ABC Network airing GHOSTBUSTERS back in 1987 with the alternate, G-rated lines. Even more egregious was the whole pan-and-scan process to reformat the film on 4×3 standard definition TV sets. Egon practically gets ommited out of the group shots that are visible in wide-screen. The only forced pan that actually worked was when Peter eggs on Ray to go get Gozer, a nod to the Library scene from the film's first 15 minutes. As Peter utters the line, he side glances Ray, and the forced camera pan perfectly cuts to Ray's bewildered face!

Those are the current rereleases. They're in stores now, but they're expensive. They're reproductions of the original toys in retro packaging that even has the Kenner logo, and Kenner no longer exists, having been absorbed into Hasbro years ago. The way you can tell the original/rereleases apart visually is the modern Hasbro logo on the back in addition to the Kenner one. And of course, they'll be in very good condition compared to the original boxes, which even if kept in mint condition uh, conditions would still show some age degradation.

Ecto 1 absolutely has enough ectoplasmic energy to "move" or behave on its own - in a limited fashion. Over the course of the two movies we repeatedly see what enough of Egons muckus does to any material - think of the toaster or the statue. Since Akroyd took the lore very seriously, this is a concept that makes total sense. We see this in Afterlife, Ecto 1 WANTS to drive out onto the field =) They just scrapped so much ideas to streamline the movie - I love these little details. Good job mentioning it

I thought Afterlife rehashed the plot to the 2nd movie. Maybe giving it enough of a difference to constitute being a sequel. I was hoping for something new though and was let down that the original characters only appeared at the end. I do think it recaptured the 80s charm though, whilst still giving it the modern look.
@Humongous4202 жыл бұрын
@@tariqxl the second movie was a totally different story than the 3rd 🤷♂️ no painting ghost, no baby kidnapping, no slime, no dickless man baby, no statueof liberty...maybe you should watch Ghostbusters 2 again 😂 Juuust sayin

@@tariqxl I mean Ghostbusters 2 somewhat copied the plot of Ghostbusters one but I don't see how Ghostbusters afterlife copied Ghostbusters 2 really in any way. Now Ghostbusters 2 is definitely something a rehash of one and afterlife did have part 1s villains which was a little bit unoriginal. Apart from that it was an original Ghostbusters movie that didn't take place in New York, wasn't about the original Ghostbusters, and had a unique plot that tied the original films to this one while also trying something new with a different location and cast.

First time doing "ten _more_ things" vid? 🤔 "Minty" has confirmed that he had lived in the UK before migrating to Australia (not sure if he had mentioned it on an earlier video). As well, he seems to be unaware of another Reitman-helmed gem called Dave (1993), which also coincidentally had Sigourney Weaver in a supporting role (larger than in GB); RIP to Ivan Reitman and Harold Ramis 😑🎬

I didn't know about some deleted scenes and tv version. I kinda could see reitman's problem with the stay puft man I find it a bit strange. I do have problems with how Winston is put in the story. Bill Murray's character can be seen as a creep even though he drives the success of the movie. I mean I understand why Sigourney Weaver was cast in the film the zuul part is done very well I'm not sure though about the rest.
@SuperMarioBrosIII2 жыл бұрын
@josh72456 originally Winston joined the Ghostbusters much sooner in the original script I think page 6 then all the way to page 16 or 17. Ernie Hudson tried to request producers don't change the script before filming began but sadly he failed. Hudson even auditioned for his cartoon counterpart in 1986 but wasn't chosen. Instead Arsenio would be voice cast for the first couple seasons until the late Buster Jones would voice the character from season 4 onward. 🤔

@@SuperMarioBrosIII yes I knew some things about character having a bigger part in script which may have bern cut more after Eddie Murphy declined since he was original choice.
