"Full House" ran more reruns in the 90s than "Friends" does today. Watching the unaired piolet is odd for several obvious reasons. However, seeing "Danny" hug a taller "Jesse" is really odd. Part of Danny's charm was that he was a tall, "string bean looking" guy who loved to clean.

Full House showed that what was cool in the late '80s to early '90s was actually '50s and '60s nostalgia (e.g. Elvis, The Beach Boys, '50s diners, leather jackets, etc). It's kind of like how '90s stuff is cool these days. I expect that the '00 fashion and pop culture will make a return in the next 20 to 30 years.
@mcsmoothie70527 күн бұрын
True, but I always thought that the music Jesse liked had more to do with the cost of the music rights. Singing a few bars of a contemporary hit would have probably been more than the budget of the entire episode.
@mcsmoothie70527 күн бұрын
But you are correct, in that 60’s music was almost more 80’s music than 80’s music. It was in everything, but again, you have to wonder how much of that was about money and cost of music rights.

This is easy before watching the video Minty will talk about actor John Posey being cast as Danny Tanner in the unaired Full House pilot, next John Stamos and his characters name change from Adam Cochran to Jesse Cochran and finally to Jesse Kastopulous. Next up Joey's manniquin who always had on the same outfit as him the season 1 only. John Stamos wanting to fire the Olsen twins when they were still babies and kept crying, they were briefly replaced with two red heads but were quickly brought back. How am I doing? Also it wasn't until season 8 when the Olsen Twins were credited as a single person. Producers wanted a 9th season but John Stamos and Candace Cameron wanted to move on. Due to popular demand and a strong syndication run the cast of Full House was brought back for a reboot Fuller House except the Olsen Twins. After Bob Saget passed Mary Kate and Ashley did attend his funeral and this was actually the first comeplete reunion with the entire Full House cast. Minty may also talk about the Olsen Twins Home Video explosion in the early 90's when the Olsen Twins were at the peak of their careers. I'm done! 🏠📺📼🦮

I actually did watch Fuller House when it premiered and ran on Netflix. I only watched Full House in passing as a kid but knew it enough to know the story, while my wife regularly watched it. With that said, both of us did enjoy Fuller House. It was a good sequel/reboot series that could capture someone who didn't know the original series while also building on from it. Personally, I think the real issue is people are just too nostalgic these days. They just wanted a full on continuation of the original series but I'm also willing to bet that had the reboot done that people would've complained just as much.

Good Job Minty on doing a video of one of my all-time favorite tv shows from the 80’s/90’s. BUT 2 things I would like to correct you on: 1. Dave Coulier’s last name is pronounced cool-lee-a 2. Candace Cameron Bure’s last name is pronounced bur-ray. Other than that, great job.👍

Thanks for another fun video. I was in my late teens, early 20's when this show was on, and what little I saw of it seemed quite juvenile, so I passed on this whole era of sitcoms. No Full House, Perfect Strangers, Urkle or the like for me. Still don't feel like I missed much. LOL.

Back in the day, before streaming or even DVDs of TV shows, Full house was a stable in my house. We all would gather just to watch the newest episode. 😁

I actually loved it... I was the perfect age for it, as was my brother (we're only 18 months apart). It became a Friday (T.G.I.F.) tradition, until the series finale. R.I.P., Momma Edit: Damn it, Minty... hearing that opening theme after all these years... gave me chills, and brought a tear to my eye... Damn, I miss those days. And my Mom.

I can only think it aired on Sunday on Australia because the censorship board needed time to make sure USA wasn't hiding propaganda in the show and it took them until Sunday to verify the safety of the show 😅😂

I am surprised that Minty did not at least check out some of Fuller House when it was originally released on Netflix. He appears to be a big fan of Full House. In 2022 Fuller House was broadcast on GAC Family in the US. Also I remember in the US ABC moved Full House out of Friday Night TGIF to Tuesday Night for the final seasons.

@amazingeric97 “He appears to be a big fan of Full House.” Where did you get that idea from? He clearly explains both at the beginning of the video and at the end of the video that he was never a big fan. It wasn’t his cup of tea. He just knows the show because it was always on tv.

Minty, I recommend watching Fuller House IF you have the time for it! The episodes seem shorter since there are no commercials and the humor is similar to the style we grew up with in the 90s :) (I think we were born the same year haha) And RIP to Bob Saget

I don't watch modern shows, so as someone who literally rotates classic shows - it's ABC Week for me and ironically, Full House is prepped for this very evening. Talk about good timing! And you're not missing much with Fuller House. Great premise of DJ's marital last name being 'Fuller', but the execution of the show sucked. Couldn't get past the 1st season. The wrestling match episode was cool though, Candice Cameron did train in the ring for that episode. Keep it up, Minty Arts!

I really liked this show!! It was cute! It's sad about I think his name is Bob and his passing!! have a request, would like for you to do a show about Family Matters, Mark!! 😊 I have to add, it's really heartbreaking than Michelle Thomas who played Steve Urkle s girlfriend passed away, she was so beautiful and talented!! 😢 I have all the seasons!!

Full House reminds me alot of those corny, but wholesome Disney sitcoms from the 2000s, which i admittedly watched, lol. Minty, please do 10 Things over other TGIF shows, like Family Matters, Hanging with Mr. Cooper, Step by Step, Boy Meets World, etc. I'd especially love to see one on Family Matters! R.I.P. Bob Saget!!

So, just a few more “things you didn’t know”, in the opening credits they are playing and having a picnic in a park. That park is in front of the “Painted Ladies” houses in San Francisco. Many people assume one of those houses was where they lived. The real house used for the outside shot is about a mile north of the painted ladies. I couldn’t find this anywhere, but I believe in an interview, Jeff Franklin, or Bob Saget (or both) was a little mad at Jerry Seinfeld’s tv show, because it’s what Full House was originally pitched as before becoming more family oriented. If so, it also didn’t help as Jerry Seinfeld had been reportedly being paid a million dollars per episode.

I was lucky enough to hang out with Bob Sagat in the green room of a television network I was working for back in the mid 2000's. I mentioned something about my dog and he told me he loved working with Comet. Nice guy.

Fuller House wasn't that bad in my opinion. The major thing that I liked about the newer show was now it was about the daughters been adults and also single parents....who are around my age now! The humor is where I felt like it was flat and try to add some old-school humor from the original show Full House
