I really like it. It shows that even besides the melody there are subtle and interesting happening in the background!

It wasn't as boring as I thought it would be . Yes, the beginning was rough going, but as it went along, it built -- or maybe my anticipation did -- kind of like a geometric progression . And when the modulation finally happened, I was ecstatic. Missed the final gliss, though I understand why it wasn't included. Great experiment.

Great, the snare drum (or Ravel) shows her secret militant face

It's kind of entrancing.

But like why not the gliss at the end? It bothers me way too much.

Really provocative attempt for some people, but bravely done though. Did you manage to work around the copyright for Ravel? It is also interesting to hear what is embedded in the orchestration besides the melody that is left out. Gives references to DJs that uses some vamp materials to be looped forever.

Ravel died in 1937 and in Germany after the end of the 70th calender year after the death of an artist their artwork becomes public domain. So in this case for Ravel's work this means that since 2008 there is no need anymore to take care about copyright. And since this piece was premiered in 2015 everything was just fine and legal. ;)

*vielleicht

OK. A joke, an experiment, but Mister Kreidler, what does this work in addition to cause the appearance of melody Bolero in the brain of the listener?.
@mirko1248 жыл бұрын
+Francisco José Martin Quintero for example, it turns the orchestra's hierarchy upside down. And it creates a different piece, as a kind of readymade, which was lying underneath the famous melody. I've written an essay about the piece (sorry in german only) www.kreidler-net.de/theorie/minusbolero.pdf

It is contemporary in that Minusbolero was written quite recently (in our current times) - 2010 to 2014
