I remember watching your videos back in 2020 during covid and here I am again, back to the basics! 🤦🏻♂️

Nice tips for learning calisthenics! I've been doing pushups, situps, and squats daily, but I really want to get a pull-up bar soon!

Get a pair of gymnastics rings too, if you can afford them. They are not very expensive and are a true game changer.

As someone who I'd relatively new to calisthenics this was a nice compact video.

Pushup Pullup Dip Squat Lunge Leg Raise Frog Stand Front Lever L-Sit I know it's more advanced, but I'm surprised Planche wasn't on the list. I'm also surprised to not see the humble jackknife. One of my favorite variants of a sit-up/crunch.

Tucked planche could’ve been on there for sure, I just didn’t want the list to be too long

I followed you during the pandemic, and moved into power lifting. I had a hernia surgery and am recovered from that now. I want to return to calisicsnics and progressions, (eventually work towards weights at some point too). I just appreciate how simply and concisely you relay information.
@pianokey7312 ай бұрын
This is exactly what I have been looking for without even realizing it. Thank you so much for providing the progressions. It's never too late to start. I'm 51 and female and I want to be able to do a handstand some day. I can do a few of these, but would love to do them all.
@MinusTheGym2 ай бұрын
You can absolutely learn them all! And a handstand is totally achievable too. Check out my handstand playlist and stay tuned to the channel. I’ll make more handstand videos in 2025.

@MinusTheGym I definitely will stay tuned. Thanks again for all your content! It's very useful!

This is great info! I like that it was straight to the point, while also giving progressions for each. Thank you!!

Very usefull video, thank you! I hope that you ll create a video about training variables, like sets, frequency, rest, excercise selection and possibly how to integrate cardio in our programm ( or if we can cometely skip it)

Thank you for this. I'm curious. What's your favorite work out?
@MinusTheGym2 ай бұрын
My favorite workout is an upper/lower body split routine built around these basics. I like going high rep and working on muscular endurance, often with circuit training. I add cardio on the third day, so my weekly schedule is upper, lower, cardio, upper, lower, cardio, rest. I’ll make a video with all the details about the actual routine (exercises, sets, reps, etc.)

I am doing Calisthenics no for over a year and start to make some progress with some skills. However despite being in quite good shape I am starting to feel my 62 years, mainly in the tendons. Just recently I slightly stressed my left arm biceps tendon. How are you dealing with such injuries? Are you completely stepping down from training? At my age muscle loss happens much faster and I always struggle with recovery time versus keeping a minimum activity level.

I use to love doing handstands growing up but haven't done one in 30+ years. At 66, not sure if it is possible to do it.

For beginner Pull-ups, my gym has an assisted Pull-up machine. Would you reccomend using it and do as many assisted pullups as I can, or start out just hanging like you showed in the video? Thanks...
@MinusTheGym2 ай бұрын
I’d say work on your hangs and use the machine. I view the machine the same as doing pull ups with a band for assistance; it’s a great progression but you’ll still want to work on hangs and negatives.

when it comes to frogstand i just cant get my butt high can you help me understand the problem! thankyou
@MinusTheGym2 ай бұрын
It could be a matter of not leaning forward enough, which is normal in the beginning. It takes time and consistent practice to build the necessary strength not just in your muscles but also the connective tissue in your wrists to get that forward lean. Check out my frog stand tutorial if you haven’t already. It’s pretty thorough: Frog Stand Progression | Learn The Handstand! (Step 1) kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmO2amRjitl5m7s

I had Xero shoes but my dog ate them (literally lol). They were great. In a few shots in this video I’m wearing barefoot socks from the Netherlands called Baresocks 2.0. I really like those too.
