That should be an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint. They were built between 1954 and 1965. This video brings tears to my eyes because it reminds me memories of a restoration that my father made for a customer a loooooong time ago!🙂 He owned a large and beautiful car body shop with high skilled workers, in my native country (Italy), BUT he was NOT specialized in restoring cars... nevertheless this customer begged him to fix a Giulietta that he found in a farm, exactly in the same conditions like that one in the video. It took two years to restore it, with the annoying consequences to have a car standing on your way for all this time... if you own a body shop, you want to have these cars fixed, payed and gone in few days to make room for others! The customer also helped with the restoration by providing custom made upholstery and wiring loom; engine, glasses and lights were thankfully in good conditions. Other parts were easy-ish to find. Final results were excellent and eventually the car made to the car show in Turin... well, when the city was still running it (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turin_Auto_Show). After that experience, my father refused to make any more restorations! 😁

Ooh, that was brave. If you remove the paint, underseal, and rust from an old Alfa Romeo, it's not particularly rare of to find that there wasn't actually a whole lot of Alfa Romeo left under there. 😁

It shoiuld be, if I am not wrong, an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint (1954-1965). Engine was an inline 4 cylinders 1290 cc with aluminium block and cast iron inserted sleeves, alumiium head, dual over head cams and crossflow design, hemispherical combustion chambers.

They were available in Normale with a single carb and Veloce withWebers and other engine mods for more power. A series 101 1600 Giulia version single carb was also produced until 1964. I had one with triple leading shoe front drums and a five speed. A jewel.

Yup, I'm pretty sure there's a plenty of acid left in internal body structures. The only way to deactivate it is to dip the body into clean alkaline solution once again, and then into clean water.

Acid dipping looks an awfull process. However, between all the spotwelded double sheets and joints, a little bit acid stays behind. You cannot blow it away. This acid creeps to the outside slowly and ruins the paint over a fine line, just adjacent the joint. (Experience) And particulairly there you need the paint most ! My opinion: keep away from acid baths.

I'm sure you already have the ability to get large chemical dipping tanks, but, just in case you don't have this contact for custom manufactured to suit your needs, I used to work at a company called (APR) which is "Allen Plastics Repair" in a city called Fort Wayne, Indiana. From something the size of a shoe box, to tanks "liquid holding vessels" the size of 30 foot wide, 75 foot long, 12 foot high. And with special provision's large sections can be manufactured in house, shipped to the site, to finish assembling as a super structure the size of a house, granted, that not what you need, but just saying, I got one heck of an education working there for what those folks can do. They also do drop in liners that are laser scanned off of the metal or concrete structure, so the liners drop right in but fit snuggly. Materials like HDPP, HDPE, as a common material, in sheet thicknesses from 1/8" wall on smaller units and drop in replacement liners to stand alone self supporting vessels of dual walls of 3" thick sheets, X 2 layers, with vertical and horizontal styles and ribs for the super large units. Upper shelf ledges, walking planks crowns, thermal bonded or mechanical fastened plumbing for fills/drains, just an amazing company. Now, prices, I have no clue, let alone, in today's economy, I am sorry, but, more than anything, letting you know, those folks specialize in liquid holding tank manufacturing. Their engineers are not only as smart as they come for the design of the mechanics of pros & cons they are exceptionally great with chemical engineering as well. They run with all the standard required certifications for industry, and serve not only the US's auto manufacturers like the tanks for flipping the whole dang chassis 360 degrees twice in one long tank system X each phase of E-coating and all that goes into that multi million dollar process of an assembly line. I really enjoyed watching these videos, very addicting...lol

That is a 1960 to 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint. Also known as a 101 Series car, because of the somewhat larger tail light fins/housings compared to the earlier 1950's Giulietta cars (a/k/a 750 Series). I used to own a 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint. It was my first car! This was a 1300cc engined car. That last ones with the 1600cc engines had a more rectangular shaped instrument panel pod for the gauges.

A bit more detail: the original was the 1954 Giulietta 750 series, 1300cc. In about 1958 it morphed over a space of months into the Giulietta 101 series, also 1300cc, but bigger rear lights, different landing panel for the bonnet/hood, different grilles. Late in production it got the new 105 series 1600cc engine, and was renamed Giulia. (Giulia - grown-up Giulietta, get it?). In 1964 the new, bigger Giulia 105 series model was launched. The 750/101 series are masterpieces of design, all the qualities of a miniature hand built car from a real carrozzeria (Bertone), and still treasured by their owners.
