18:36 through 18:40 yeah no kidding literally a total solar eclipse is actually how people in medieval times discovered the element of helium, and added it to the periodic table of elements. 😅😅😅😅😅😅
@DavidMuri-lm5vy4 ай бұрын
19:58 through 20:00 technically you're not wrong, but the actual numbers shows that the Earth's rotation slows down by a full second every thousand years because of the moon's gravity (if we ignore the leap years that happen every 4 years that add one day which we can skip that if it's a new century, but we have to add it anyway if the year is divisible by 400), so every day (in 24 Earth hours) the moon's gravity slows down the Earth's rotation by 1/356,000 of a second, or by 3.56 nanoseconds per (24-hours in Earth Days.) 😅😅😅😅😅😅

It's weird that the northern hemisphere, which happens to have more people on it, is more likely to experience an eclipse than the southern hemisphere.
@GreatBigBore5 ай бұрын
It experiences more TOTAL solar eclipses. They published a video about it last week. It’s not so weird when someone explains why it happens kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3jVgH-XntN8n6Msi=6uPCFPd3KGeSdGd5

My dental hygienist got off on this kind of tangent when I said I'm going to see the eclipse. For her it was nonsense about the eclipse going over "7 Ninevehs", referring to cities in the US named after the town Jonah was trying to avoid preaching to. If you're curious, the path of totality only passes over barely 2 of them, and despite Google's widget, there are a lot more than 7 in the partial eclipse path. I am a Christian, but I've also read in Matthew where it says "But about that day or hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." so...yeah. Not buying anyone claiming to know the day.
@davidjennings21795 ай бұрын
@@MerennulliYeah, I've no problem with people who choose to follow a religion but I do take issue with people who try to take the faith those people have and lead them - sometimes those people seem to genuinely believe what they say...but claiming you're having personal chats with god(s) that tell you when the earth will end just raises a ton of red flags for me.
