Easiest cast iron cleaning tip: While pan is still really hot, pour 1-2 tablespoons of regular tables salt (preferably non-iodized but that’s okay too) into the pan with the hot grease still inside. Bunch up paper towels and wipe (scrub) inside of pan. The salt is an abrasive that removes chunks of baked on food particles. It’s amazing!!! The salt scrubs off everything, yet the hot grease still leaves a coating and it’s perfectly seasoned for the next cook time. The salt clumps up with old food and excess grease, but just wipe out into the camp fire or trash. Pan will look amazing and the entire process only takes 20-30 seconds. No soap nor water needed! Easy.

LOVE my Minuteman Stove !!! Bought mine several years ago, right after they upgraded to this configuration. Yes, it's a little pricey, but worth every dime. Mine rides with me in the truck, and I use it more than any of my other stoves. You simply won't find a better stove, period.

You’re up and about your business mighty early this day. I used to collect camping stoves, ‘till I just got too many. This one I don’t have, heh, heh, heh.... I know this would go well in the back of a truck or trunk of a car, @ 14 pounds. “Love me some fat wood.” By golly, it throws a serious flame. Plenty sturdy. I like Dave’s bread too. You know that's a heck of a nice rocket stove setup. Solid too, and all closed up in that ammo box. That's a great idea there. A Rocket heats fast without a bunch of wood neither, just dry scruff laying arround and she'll torch up. Nice review.

I don' think that version draws like their other ones. The designs I've seen (and one I'm likley to weld up this fall) will have a bit more of a diverter system and cleaner air flow... This feels like it's missing a channel at the back. I made a "rocket" stove out of tin cans about ten years ago, it could heat up our 10" lodge and cook bacon in under 10 minutes! (At about 1/20th the cost.) Never had issues with it going out, even in pouring down rain.

@SurvivalOnPurpose Жыл бұрын
Oops. You are correct. I was thinking about a different stove from Minuteman. Yes, it will eventually need to be dumped out, but you can easily cook a meal without cleaning it out because it is so efficient. It takes very little wood to get the job done and it burns the wood pretty completely. It's easiest to dump out after it has cooled enough to put it back together. If there is not time for that you can just dump it the next time you open it to use it. A small inconvenience for the excellent portability and clean storage.

PC board repair- I assume you work on computers. How much do you charge your customers for your time? $50 /hr or more. There is 2.5 hrs of manufacturing man hours in each of these hand made stoves. Add to that the cost of materials, Plant and equipment, insurance, advertising, etc.etc and the cost makes a lot more sense. i wish we could sell them cheaper but for the quality and durability of the stove and the business realities of Made in The USA, we feel the current price is fair.

Do any proceeds from the sales of these go toward political fund raisers or paramilitary groups? The Minuteman theme is cooling my jets from buying one. Pseudo patriotism mixed into products turns me away from them. If I get one, I’ll be quick to use heat resistant spray paint to black out the logo.
