I wrote this song when I in high school, at age 17. I just now saw this post. It is very gratifying and humbling to see how well received it has been over the years by so many people of different ages and backgrounds. Thank you sincerely for sharing.

Do girls and women singing this song ever consider that when the protagonists asks, “How many Jews in this town?”, the town’s Jewish WOMEN DIDN’T COUNT!? If those nine men in the back of the hardware store had only counted their wives, they wouldn’t have had to wait for the random stranger passing through town.

In only reform and/or conservative synagogue do the girls count for a minyan but if they go to an Orthodox synagogue then there will be NO MINYAN for girls nor women. Please think positive daily. ©® September 09, 2021 @ 10:10 am ©®
