At 16:30 if we play Qd1, then the move Nh5 oppening the way for the Queen doesn't work because we have Qxh5 defending any check on h4. Even if the opponent follows with g6 we still have Qh6.

At 26:42 8...Ba5 was also interesting to me until I noticed that white wins with a neat little tactic. White to play and win! (scroll down if you don't see it) (a bit more) 9.Nxe5 Bxe5 10.Bxe5 Qxe5 11.b4 Bb6 12.c4, threatening the queen and pawn to c5, trapping the bishop.

When it comes to the idea of playing f4,f5... 28:51 There is actually very interesting game from 1902 Mieses-Chigorin, Monte Carlo where Mieses pushes his f-pawn all the way to f6. That is actually the game where I got the idea for f-pawn pushes.
@Electronite1978
@Electronite1978 3 жыл бұрын
Quite an incident but this game Kasparov-Caruana really inspired me to play this system. I have even named this variation in my reperetoire as Kasparov-variation ;). I like it as I play Grand Prix Attack and try to use f-pawn here as well. Nowadays I always go for 5.f5 no matter what black plays. The way Caruana played was rather tame in my opinion as there are much more challenging ways for black to play. There was a recent game between Jan Nepomniachtchi and Viswanathan Anand. Vishy chose a very challenging line. One of the trickiest lines in this variation. 1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 (Bishops opening move order is important here as after 2.Nc6 Nf6 3.Bc4 Nxe4 is not that great) Nf6 3.d3 Bc5 4.Nc3 d6 5.f5! Nc6 6.Nf3 Ng4!. In this variation you really have to know the moves or you easily get destroyed as white. 7.Ng5 a counter attack is the best way to go. Even after this the game a big tactical battle. Anyways great analysis and very helpful. Just filling some gaps in my repertoire ;)

U know Mio... Its about 17:30 ... I saw this and I was amazed.. I prepared for a OTB game... I was so amazed by Queen g3 ignoring the fork... We got the Bishops opening... he didnt play nc3... U know what I did? On the next accasion I played it, even it didnt fit the position... My opponent was so impressed be how confident I played it... I new it was wrong, but i didnt show it.. He refused to win and play the fork.. We played a Middlegame and in the endgame i finally caught his knight we traded everything and I won. xD

I play this one sometimes. I understand the reason behind it. It gives you attacking changes on the f file. Looks simular to the yoegoslav. My favourite was the italian game and it's variations. Sometimes for fun the danish but it's not a 100%. But now we have the secret e3.😉 I've studied a lot. So english set up is fine too. Against for example french defense. I'm playing for 25 years now. Nowadays online or vs engine. I hope my daughter will become a good player. As a young player i won a lot. But than later on had other hobby's too so i stopped playing at a club. I can beat really good players if there are no mistakes offcourse. I like this channel. So keep it up.

Great stuff as always Mio! But I have a question about white's light squared bishop. Should a3 be played so that if black plays N a5, the bishop has a place to go? Or is this a waste of tempo and the exchange should be allowed?
@MiodragPerunovicOfficial
@MiodragPerunovicOfficial 2 жыл бұрын
We should not waste time in Bishop’s, actually you usually should keep the LS bishop when possible, problem is that they can often exchange it with Be6! So, if you can keep it, if they don’t have Be6 to neutralize it, then keep it, otherwise Bb3 followed by ab3 should be normal

I learned after Na5 Ne2 to play c6 and delay capturing the bishop. I don't always capitalize, but almost every continuation gives black a bit of an advantage, white has to play basically perfectly in the opening in that variation to maintain equality. But it is very hard for me to understand the move orders. Did you take a look at it?
@MiodragPerunovicOfficial
@MiodragPerunovicOfficial 4 жыл бұрын
I did look at it, not in the video, but it transposes, I would say position is roughly equal after standard, b3, a4, Bb2/Be3, Qd3 and position is ok for both
@john11inchlhb40
@john11inchlhb40 4 жыл бұрын
@@MiodragPerunovicOfficial Hmm, I tried to get a tame near-transposition, but a4 seems to take up crucial time to me; I think it gives black time to play Nh5 before Ng3 and meet it with NxN, or to play d5. Because 4...Na5 5. Ne2 c6 6. a4 (6. b3? b5) Nxc4 7. Qd3 O-O 8. O-O (castling and Qd3 are interchangeable for white) d6 9. Ng3 (9. b3?! Nh5!) Be6 10. b3 d5! fine for both as you say, but given as slightly better for black at high depths and generally successful with the center blown up and the bishops.

@@MiodragPerunovicOfficial I said I'm not trying to hate, I'm only hoping for you to make the best content you can... I don't think it's bad, this incident just made me question some of your analysis. Of course mistakes are human, but I know that you are a much better player than hanging a knight, and probably better than I will ever be. Again, I'm not trying to hate and I'm honestly learning a lot from your videos, but you could double check with an engine or something.
