Hello and welcome back to Mickey's Flightdeck.
In this video I will show you the build process of the Center panel and the flaps gauge. This component will be part of my Boeing 737-800 homecockpit.
You can find all the needed files to cut out and engrave the acrylic parts as well as the 3D print files in the member section of my website.
Also many other plans for building your own homecockpit can be found on www.mickeys-flightdeck.de.
Stay informed about my upcoming videos and subscribe to my channel.

Why don't you try the VID28-05 stepper? It has 2 steppers with concentric shafts. It was absolutely made for what you're doing here, no wobbly shafts and no gear backlash. I found listings for it on several sites, prices vary wildly from 4 to 40 USD.

The first reason is that I didn't know about this motor. I first tried the x27 stepper and I had my problems to fix a needle to that thin shaft. I think i would face the same problem with this stepper. I made good experiences with these D shaped shafts. And it is a very cheap motor.

Great build like always! And nice to see, how You are working on improvements. Why do You use the steppermotors instead of 9g servos? (I would need to change my design ;) )

When you are using a servo for this gauge you have to use some gears because the needle has to move more than 180 degrees. And these steppers run smoother and much more quiet.
