I love how after all this training of using the protocol and how to do this and not to do that . meanwhile what we deal with in actual calls : The Client : "Hey Translator , can u tell Mom that she ........." 😂😂 (i had a client before were i was interpreting but in the middle the LEP said "sorry but it's because my English is not good" , and i said that in the first person then i had the client telling me "Oh if u're English is not good interpreter and u're not comfortable i am sorry but i'll have to get another interpreter" , i had to actually explain to her the situation then she said "ooooh i am sorry u were actually doing ur job correctly" 😅😅😅)

Currently working at Propio and I would like to increase my pay per minute as I am not to happy with what I was offered. Would a certification give me a rate increase?

Hi there! A great question. The answer to that depends on several things but generally speaking, it will help when you are applying to companies and can greatly impact your ability to negotiate rates; however, I personally found quite difficult to ask for a raise once you are already employed with a company. @@masontheinterpreter Thank you for your videos! They are amazing. I am currently a CMI working at Propio and Transperfect as an OPI, but the call volume is pretty low and most of my time is spent waiting, so I am trying to find other OPI/VRI work opportunities to get better call volume. Do you know of any company other than Propio/Transperfect which offer remote OPI/VRI work for non-US residents or internationally? I am currently a CMI-Spanish. I've tried applying to GLOBO, Voyce, One World Global Services, Future Group, but all of them offer EXTREMELY low rates per minute for interpreters outside the US.
