If this were to happen in the game, knowing Revali, he would be the one to sacrifice himself to be sealed away forever just for his pride. Not only that, but he is one of the most hard-working champions of all of four actually EARNING the title “champion” and not being born into the role. For those who didn’t get the DLC: Look no further than the recruitment scene with him and Zelda. Before Zelda arrives, he struggles with his Gale move and actually commentates to work harder. He’s by far the most interesting and most misunderstood character underneath all that pride and arrogance.

None of the others were born into it either. Champion isn’t an inherited title, it was invented for the war. They were chosen based on their skill in combat. Most interesting is subjective, so while I personally don’t agree, I’m not gonna say he isn’t. However most misunderstood I have to respectfully disagree with. Most of us Revali haters do understand him perfectly well, we just think that insecurity does not give you permission to be mean to people.

I would chosen Revail here’s why, Mipha is a staple for the Zora, and Link and Mipha would have been married if the events of The Calamity happened, not to mention they were childhood friends. Urbosa acted as mother figure for Zelda, I honestly don’t have much for Urbosa than she is really cool and was mother figure which is even cooler. Daruk, he was a heartwarming character and he was just like everyone’s friend, Mipha even requested to train with him, and of course as any buddy would he agreed, as BoBinQuin would say “I love rock dad”. And finally Revail, he had a lot of room for character improvement, but that was really his only pro, other than that he was a butt.

This is coming from and old BOTW fan so correct me if I get some details wrong. I don't think Ravali brought much to the table in terms of relationship strength with Zelda/Link or as a major character. Mipha had the whole love thing with Link I think, Urbosa was basically Zelda's second mother, and Daruk was just a great overall character and very friendly. And I'm not too sure if Revali's gift is that useful either compared to the other characters. I think Revali's only redeeming quality is that I love his theme.

Revali is actually a really interesting character and it makes sense that he's constantly jealous of Link. I dislike Revali, but you can’t discredit the fight with Windblight. He was the furthest from his Divine Beast, it was thunderstorming and it was night time. He had to fly all the way to Vah Medoh in the dark while dealing with trying not to get struck by lightning. Rito don’t have good night vision, and this fight took place in the dark. Windblight was already there when he got there and so it was able to just spam lasers from one spot while Revali dodges them until he collapses from exhaustion or gets hit.

Revali was just a teen. That’s the sad part. He is so much tinier than the other Rito and still has his child spots and baby feathers. That’s why he was so prideful. He was immature but also the only Champion without magical abilities. He had to work to get where he is, and Link didn’t talk to him so he assumed Link was stuck up and didn’t respect him. I feel bad for him. I couldn’t choose. I always assumed their ages in human equivalent were like: Urbosa: 30s Daruk: 50s Mipha: Late teens BUT I think 20s slightly older than Zelda and Link Revali: Definitely the same age as Zelda and Link

Hmm... This is hard for me. Fighting wise- Urbosa Revali Daruk Mipha Impact on their people- Mipha Urbosa Daruk Revali Impact on the character- Mipha Daruk Revali Urbosa Overall, I feel like Revali Daruk Urbosa Mipha My reasoning is that Mipha's death was very impactful for her people. It affected everyone and really hurt Sidon, the next king of the zora that it STILL affects them after 100 years. Zoras live for a long time, but still. I also feel like she would be the most miserable being sealed away all alone. She is probably the weakest in battle, but that's the only real reason for her to be sealed away. When Urbosa died, her people were sad but became empowered by what a strong ruler she was. They look up to her as a previous chief, so it didn't have the same impact as it did to the zoras. She also isn't quite as well remembered as Mipha, but I mean, it's been 100 years. She is still mentioned and very well known. She had a strong impact, and she is an incredibly strong fighter. The only downside really is that she probably would be the most okay with being sealed away forever. She did her best for her people, she trusts the next chief, and is happy with what she did. She does worry about Zelda though. For Daruk, he's my personal favorite (him or Urbosa), but that aside. I think he was really strong, and he was great for moral with his people. He had a strong brotherhood with them, however, he was pretty forgotten after 100 years. It is 100 years, but I think he was less known than Urbosa or Mipha. I think he would be very unhappy being sealed away because he loves being around people and socializing. His probably would break my heart the most. Revali was an incredible fighter and helped out quite a bit. However, out of all the champions, he sadly was the most forgotten. He also doesn't seem to be too sad by being alone. The Rito and Hyrule relations got better after he left (to my knowledge), and no one really remembered him. He didn't have any friends or family really. He was pretty much all alone. Let me know what you guys think!

It makes no sense. Maybe people were thinking more of his personality but Revali’s gale is a game changer. When I played BOTW for the second time I went Urbosa, Revali, Daruk then Mipha. All you need is some durian and hearty truffles to max out your hearts and farm as many fairies as possible and Mipha’s grace is replaceable. People are stanning Mipha and Link and are not thinking rationally.

I think the terrible English translation makes this result... In the original text, Revali is still prideful on the surface but also has a hidden humble, gentle side that doesn't show easily (even if he shows, it's very subtle), which makes him a tsundere instead of a bully or a plain jerk, so many people love him in Japan... And many people haven't played The Champions' Ballad DLC I guess... He has the confidence to be prideful to say he is a skilful/strong champion/warrior because 1. that's a fact and 2. he works hard to earn that result, the skills and respect from others, of course he has the right to be proud for all of those. Also even though he is already the best warrior of Rito, he still works hard to be better every day... This side of being a perfectionist and practising secretly to become better and better also makes many people become a fan of him in Japan, at first they also dislike/hated him... People who hate him for "Link doesn't do anything wrong to Revali but Revali keeps picking on him, such a jerk/bully" also haven't thought that the characters in the game don't have God's POV, they don't actually "know" that Link is the main character/true hero, they all trust him just because "the legend said the one can pull out the master sword is the hero" so most of the characters believe him for that, and Revali is the only one who questions if this whole situation reasonable... Yes, he is just questioning in the original text, he never says he should be the one who takes Link's place, just asking why Link is this special one, because the legend says so? ... As we can see in AOC, before Link pulls out the master sword, he didn't really do anything that makes him so special to be the one, he maybe is Zelda's bodyguard knight, but so what? Link isn't the best knight in the Kingdom before all of these, he is only "one of the knights" at the beginning... Compared with the 4 champions, Daruk has his special defence ability and is an experienced warrior; Mipha is Zora's princess and has a special healing ability; Urbosa is a strong, skilful warrior, the leader of her town and has the ability to summon lightning; Revali himself, he doesn't have any special magical power but he has his reliable fighting skill that he polishes every single day, and he is, in fact, the best warrior of the whole Rito Village, also, to be honest, having the ability to fly, fight from height really is a big game changer. So we can see Revali has never been mean or judging other champions, because the other three indeed have proven themselves in some ways. He has never said he is the best of 4, only says he admits Link is very strong, BUT he is stronger than Link. He always judges Link, because, at that time, Link hasn't done anything so special and great to make Revali thinks that Link is a special one and worth/deserves anything especially his respect+trust (even the battle between him and Link never has a result, and Revali doesn't think he would lose, which means Link probably didn't make him felt threatened in that battle). So in Revali's POV, he can't understand why a common knight has the same level of position or even a higher position than the 4 of them... This is actually quite reasonable.

But age of Calamity changed the story. In aoc link was just some regular knight and didn't do anything special until he pulled the master sword, but in botw it states that link could defeat adults in combat when he was a child and that he first pulled the master when he was a child.
