Miquella is fearsome because of his ability to charm anyone. Mohg kidnapped Miquella but look what happened to Mohg. He too became infatuated with Miquella and wanted to raise Miquella to godhood with himself as a consort.

This. At first i thought miquella to be weak as mohg could kidnap him however when you fight mohg he seems to be completely entranced by miquella. So much that he doesnt realize the body is dead or atleast not what he thinks it is.

An Empyrean retains his or her free will after becoming a god - e.g. Marika broke the Elden Ring in defiance of the Greater Will - So, clearly, a god is not a mindless puppet of the outer god. When one becomes a god, the god is in charge, and the consort is just the second in command. Besides, the power of blood is not capable of controlling the will of a person. So, the argument that Mohg can simply control the will of Miquella by giving him blood seems out of place.

I don’t think that Mohg has the ability to control the will of Miquella. Mohg is just supplying blood to awaken him (based on the Lord of Blood's Exultation) . If supplying blood, rot or whatever powers from an outer god can control someone, Malenia would have already become a pawn of the Rot God. But no, she retained her own will. So I would expect the same thing with Miquella. He will retain his own will after becoming the blood god. Mohg will be the Elden lord equivalent / consort. Another example is this - Marika retained her free will after becoming the god of the Golden Order and used that free will to break the Elden Ring, so the point that an Empyrean will become a "puppet" after becoming a god is baseless.

No, there’s nothing in the game saying that Mohg wanted to make Miquella a “puppet god”. Mohg’s Remembrance stated that he wanted to raise Miquella to “godhood”. That’s all - this puppet thing is entirely made up as far as I know.

They also inherited their purpose and traits, Radagon was created to protect and serve Marika an eternal, but was cursed by the fire giants. Miquella was cursed to forever be a child, a form of immortality, whilst being protected by Malenia who's cursed by an outer god to have the rot.

I like to believe the outer gods don't curse but possess them to a certain degree. Malenia being the vessel for Scarlet Rot and Miquella being one for something ambiguous and Mysterious. Possibly more dangerous because of its hidden nature.

That was actually in the game. She was originally a friendly Npc who could be aggrod to be a boss. They had so much prepared for her and sadly they could not finish it by the time the game released. Hopefully they'll readd her questline and that cut ending

Miquella is definitely one of the more mysterious demigods because of his absence in the game. If there were to be a DLC for Elden Ring that involved him I wonder if we would face him as a God. And if so, would it lead to us challenging beings like the Greater Will? It could also take a different approach with the player and Miquella, being the wise person he most likely is, team up to fight the Greater Will to produce a new ending like the age of stars.

I love it. It’d be nice if the fandom stopped hating on the twins for five minutes and actually looked into their beautiful lore. I say this because I just saw someone saying Miquella was evil, but I think he had the next best plan to deal with the Golden Order besides Ranni. He planted a healing tree for his sister, and it became a refuge for the outcasts of the Golden Order-particularly the Albinaurics. The Golden Order has a history of just utterly destroying and waging war on anyone not under them. The Fire Giants and Carians all suffered this. The Eternal City was punished by them, and Radahn hid them away from everything by stopping their stars. The Albinaurics, Omens, and Those who Live in Death were all horribly mistreated… I honestly kind of really dislike the Golden Order’s merciless campaigns, even if I sympathize with its vassals. Characters like the Twin Prodigies and Ranni are interesting for their unique ways of dealing with it. Mogh and Rykard go too far lol.

When you fight Mogh he moves to the corpse inside of a shell and calls it Miquella, since he kidnapped Miquella i believe this is actually meant to be him, but we just see his hand. But i'm not sure if he's meant to be dead or dying/unable to move.

I like how Miquella looked for a cure for the rot with his own power and the power of the order and failed. When a cure for the rot exsists in the giants flame (which it's self is a play on japanese alchemy where the element of fire burns out the element of rot) as O' flame cleanse me cures it but as the gaints where enemies he never looked there

It´s possible since this kinda happened in DS3 too. Where Friede calls us "Lord of Hollows", if we have the Hollow ending, which is very neat. Wouldnt be surprised if Miquella calls us Elden Lord/Lord of Chaos. Another cool thing would be that he points out every demigod you defeated so far by for example "sensing it" while he sleeps.

Miquella's goal with the Haligtree was most likely to be what the Erdtree would not. The Erdtree is a fossilized relic that, although effectively immortal, cannot bestow any blessing or benefit as it could during its youth. Its roots strangle the earth to keep itself alive indefinitely, much like Marika's rule over the Lands Between, where most people have devolved into mindless husks. Miquella probably wanted to mix his own youthful vitality with Malenia's powers of rot to create a symbol of worship that could actually benefit its followers. Despite what it may seem to us players, after seeing its scarlet variant and Caelid, rot is an essential part of life, as it allows the old to fade away and nurture the young, the complete opposite of the Erdtree and the Golden Order as they cling to immortality and stop the cycle of history.

Miquella scares the fuck out of me. He's got seemingly pure intentions born out of spite. He's created gear that has the power to repel the influence of one or two Outer Gods with the power of an Outer God, was going to imitate and probably surpass the Erdtree and oust the Greater Will back to the Void. He appears to be an S-Tier manipulator but wasn't able to protect himself from the consequences of his own influence: Mohg the baby daddy. Or the daddy baby, idk. I love that this is a thing. Best piece of lore right here. He'd be a 3-phase boss, arm-in-the-cocoon, Curse-rotted Greatwood style, amisshapen, slimy, bloody, crawling phase-2-Lawrence style fight, with Miquella dealing blood damage and being feeble and FromSoftwarely horrific, and a final, god-like phase where he finds his radiance but because it's Miyazaki, half of his body will be missing, replaced by gore and rays of golden light. He'll switch to holy magic and smile at you like Sephiroth. I CAN'T WAIT.

@@Jackbanne eh we kinda already fight her in that state. The third bloom happened after phase one. Her suffix changed from "the Blade of Miquella" to "the Goddess of Rot". Phase two of Malenia is indeed her Goddess form.

It's implied she bloomed when she fought radahn but I don't think the game tells of another time before or after that so she never really became a goddess I don't think, i could be wrong tho.

Fun fact about Malenia: we actually know all 3 times the Scarlet Aeonia bloomed. We see the first in the cinematic where she fights Radahn, we pass the second in a room at Elphael just before her arena, and as you probably know, the third happens after her first boss phase... And we fight her as a true goddess.

Miquella is definitely a DLC hint, like once you get an ending, you are told that miquella has awoken and you need to go hunt him down, different bosses might apear depending on what ending you chose, like a black knife assassin for age of stars, a champion of melenia for lord of frenzy and so on.

usually fromsoft DLCs take place during or before the events of the game via time travel I doubt we'll get a follow-up to any of the endings, but we might get new endings cuz that's what they did in DS3

Two things. I predict Miquella to be a Dlc boss that resembles Femto in Berserk and that his cocoon is in some way a space or dimension where his curse doesnt exist so he can grow to godhood and become a full Empiryam. I have the theory that Miquella's and Millenia's curse is the same curse created by Merika.A curse of infertility.Miquela's developed into an eternal childhood and Millenia into a rot that made her unable to bear children.She made it in an atempt to stop the greater will from finding a substitute for her as ruler of the lands.

It is implied that Millicent is a descendent of Melania's in her questline. Maybe as Melania's rot advances, she becomes more sterile, but I don't remember seeing any references in-game to infertility. Do you remember anything that specifically hints at this?

@@totallrs I dont have anything to back it of, its just my guess.But both Empyriam twins being afflicted with the same curse would make more sense rather than both being specifically cursed separetely since birth and the common thing I found that both twins could be related to in their curse is infertility.Merika cursing her children fits very well in this narrative and feels very George RR Martin and Fromsoft like.

Alright, I HAVE to say this. While looking through items descriptions and whatnot trying to find lore I started to see what unalloyed gold is. It's extremely vague on how exactly it's made or what it does in its entirety, all we know is it can ward off outer gods and slow Melania's scarlet rot and pretty much halt it in others. Unalloyed means no other alloy is mixed with the metal so this is pure gold. However in real life we have pure gold 24-karat gold, BUT only 99.99% pure due to oxidation I believe. But since Miquella is of godly origins and is the most wise empyrean that means this boy made 100% pure gold. If we're going to go off of mythological significance, seems like salt silver and iron can be used to ward off evil entities. Gold in most mythologies is used to represent the Divine sphere something we humans can use to build connections to our deities. Unalloyed gold is something Divine yet worldly. This means it should, in theory, be able to ward against divine afflictions (scarlot rot is heavily implied to be such) AND ward off outer gods which would have little understanding of worldly concepts. Or I could be completely wrong and am looking WAY to into this. Could just be as simple as enchanted gold, but if something like the golden order and fundamentalist incantations can't help Melania or rid you of the frenzy flame then I doubt it's simply enchanted.

I think it's also important to note that pure "unalloyed" gold is very long lasting and basically unaffected by the passage of time, much like Miquella himself. And Malenia is obviously afflicted by an endlessly decaying rot which is pretty much the polar opposite. Malenia is clearly able to manipulate rot to her advantage and eventually become a Goddess of Rot, so I suppose it stands to reason that Miquella would be able to compel uncorruptable elements like unalloyed gold.

i think the thing that makes him fearsome is that hes considered to be one of wisest of the demigods, but this is to be tempered by his inevitable ascendance. malenia was just short of godhood, having bloomed twice, but was defeated before she could bloom once more. miquella however still has a chance to meet his condition for ascension, by emerging from his slumber. of which is still possible.

Personally I think Miquella's kidnapping by Mohg was what spurred Malenia on to take an army through the lands between, eventually ending up in Caelid as below Caelid is Mohg's palace. The alternative would be that Malenia like other demigods was trying to grab power, but since she fought godrick after he insulted her and send him fleeing I personally don't believe she was interested in the shards of the other demigods. Malenia only meeting her match because Radahn didn't appriciate her carrying an army and the scarlet rot to his land and failing to delve below the Caelid to the lord of blood.

The unalloyed gold needle given to Malenia by her twin brother Miquella that stops the meddling of outer gods and kept her rot at bay was broken during the fight. Meaning Malenia wanted to infect Radahn with her rotted blood after successfully stabbing him and herself, but because the gold needle was broken, she bloomed, it activated her Scarlet Aeonia (Scarlet rot), she lost control on her scarlet rot and it turned into a nuke.

It's more likely that Empyreans are demigods that are aided by an Outer God (Ranni and the Dark Moon God, Malenia and the Goddess of Scarlet Rot, Miquella and the Formless Mother).

Something that also shows Miquella´s character is that he is always searching for a way to heal his sister from the rot, not even once (at least I dont know of one case) it is mentioned that he tried to cure his eternal childhood. Even if, it is way more preasant, that he wants to cure Malenia, showing that he is an extremly caring person (you can also see this, cuz he creates a haven for people, who have no place in the Golden Order). Damn I get goosebumps thinking about him being in DLC and finding out, or maybe sensing, what happened to his sister and than he awakens to true godhood, wooping our asses even more than Malenia

Feels like Miquella could be the focus of a strong DLC. Focusing on his reactions to the world, his lore paints him to be the most kind or caring of the gods in a lot of ways, especially in the creation of the Haligtree and the related city. Of course though maybe there are already ways to wake him that haven’t been found. The game is massive, and so much is still unknown, but I’d be surprised if this is the case, as dataminers haven’t reported anything that could point to that. Slightly more likely outside of a dlc is that Miquella’s content is yet to be added to the base game, similar to the questlines and quest changes that have been added post release. There could easily be some NPC somewhere that could extend a questline into this based on certain conditions. That said, I’d also be happy if we never see Miquella in action, leaving the story a little open ended like that really aids in worldbuilding imo. Perhaps there is dialog or lore somewhere in the game that completes his story, but until then I’ll keep checking your channel to learn more abt this awesome world. Thanks for the awesome vid!

Personally, I interpreted Malenia's lore bit about her having to bloom 3 times to ascend to godhood as a teaser for possible DLC. My logic is that she had bloomed once to defeat Radahn, another time in attempts to defeat the player character and now there's a giant ass bulb where she was in the Haligtree.

She already bloomed thrice I believe though. Her second phase is actually called Malenia, Goddess of rot. Basically, Malenia bloomed once after fighting Radahn, then bloomed again from something else, as we see a second bulb in the room next to her boss fight. Then as she fights us she blooms for the third time, becoming the goddess that Scarlet Aeonia mentions in its description.
