Thank you, excellent explanation and saved me a lot of money and time. I would stress the importance of removing the wire terminals once the solenoid has loosened and turned. My solenoid struggled to exit the last bit of pipe. (the pipe has some tags which hold it in place but hinder final removal) So i applied extra pressure with some pump pliers...did the job but the release force pulled at the wires and separated the switch terminal from the switch! So new switch time! Thanks again

if there's no power or light in the mira go shower does it mean the problem is with the solenoid and i need to replace it? mine doesnt switch off in mid shower it's just that there's no power thanks

Good vid. My problem was removing the old solenoid and installing the new one. Mine was very, very tight and took a lot of careful effort to get out, it certainly didnt just pop off like in the vid. Installing the new one was no easier, very tight. A bit of WD40 did help. Just something to bare in mind when attempting this procedure.

My Mira Go went off mid shower. Light remains on and wont turn off. Does this suggest solenoid?

Hi Aaron. The shower came on and went off mid shower for a few weeks. It's now dead. Just ordered the part and will attempt to fit it myself next week. lol

Difficult to diagnose without seeing it. If leaking from a join like a compression fitting make sure they are tight and try some ptfe tape if you can't get it to seal.

Handyman Craft Glasgow Thanks for quick reply. It’s a Mira Vie and has a plastic screw connection to mains inlet with a rubber O ring. I need to check if this is where water is leaking or maybe where it joins the switching unit where there are no seals (?). Shower is 10yrs old so maybe give up and get a plumber to put in a new one!

i had the same issue with mines too as shutting off mid shower but with mines i get pull cord light going off when shower stops

Sounds like a different problem. When the solenoid is at fault everything works as it should (in my experience) , the only thing missing is water. The pull cord light going off suggests a power fault.

my thoughts if solenoid is not open then thermostat is not getting a chance to heat water as it would have to open close to .... great video btw

hello i have the same problem with shower the pull cord light is also going off when it shutsdown. how did you fix it? did you replace the solenoid coil?

That would suggest more of an electrical problem than a shower problem. I would have an electrician have a look.

Excellent video thank you, our showers now working again. One thing I found was that I couldn't dissengage the clip at top by manoeuvring so used a flat head screwdriver to release the clip at top which worked well.

Great video. My Mira sport max is more difficult, you can not get to the solanoid without disconecting the flow valve from the mains inlet and the water bottle. Grrrrr!

Didn’t really work for me,unfortunately . The top part wouldn’t unclip without first removing most of the bottom parts first.There was no way it was going to lift clear of the ‘white tube’ going into the solenoid,otherwise. Also there was still water in it,unlike yours,which didn’t help either. The bit about fishing out the ‘o’ ring came in useful though
