Great comparison, thanks for featuring us! Just to clarify a few things: Outserts - We do not have outserts in-house, but the CM-7M (and OM-90 which is the military designation for the Czech Armed Forces) is compatible with S10 outsets, which are widely available. Visors - They are made from impact-resistant silicate glass. The reason silicate glass was chosen for this design is for scratch resistance and optical clarity for magnified weapons systems and sharpshooting. Any optical distortion can mess up a long-distance shot, and with all polycarbonate, there is always some level of distortion. The C-50 does a really good job at eliminating most of it, but it’s still present in certain parts of the visor. VPU - We are releasing a VPU system in the near future which will be cross-compatible with all of our masks (same as with our microphone).

Tried the OM-90 (European version bougth in ECC), purpose to give advice to people asking for a respirator to use in really tough situations - as for instance heavy volcanic ash fall.1st feeling, easy to adjust, and very easy to breathe through (with twin cartridges), a +++ for me. Claustrophobic, far more thant any modern panoramic respirators, but the feeling of being enclosed in a heavy duty rubber seal is great.

Yeah OKB 776 has shown how the S10 outserts do not fit on the OM-90s lenses properly. Also, polycarbonate has been a standard for military gas masks for years now. Even special forces masks, such as the SF10 and FM53/54, have polycarbonate lenses, though the latter has polycarbonate in the form of an outsert. This brings me to my correction of the C50. You stated that the C50 has a polycarbonate visor, even tho the C50 has a optically correct polyurethane primary visor with an outer removable polycarbonate visor, so you can remove the visor if desired. Lastly, how are your VPUs gonna mount on the voice emitter if the OM-90 has a drink tube lever literally making that impossible? Is there gonna be an adapter or something? Also wanted to mention how the OM-90s five point head harness is an outdated design as most militaries have phased that out decades ago lol One more question: have you actually tested the C50 or any similar mask in the 50 series? I’m wondering since I find no polycarbonate distortion related to my M50, while I have it’s outsert installed of course.

@@domp5014 Not sure what that person tested, but the ones we tested work well. The VPU will be chest mounted onto a plate carrier. We have an FM53, and there is minor distortion with the polycarbonate outsert attached (not sure if polyurethane also had it or just on polycarbonate). Great mask overall. Our next-gen masks will come with a 6 point head harness, and the next iteration of the CM-6M will also be 6-point.

@@MIRASafety bro OKB776 was testing genuine S10 outserts, and he found that the OM90 does not have the proper clips to properly maintain the outserts. Note that if W&S93 can do it, it doesn’t mean it can properly be done (this is the same guy that forced NATO filters on gost masks lol). Also, chest mounted VPUs?! Bro literally no VPU does that except for the VPU for the Scott pro mask. That’s just adding unnecessary complications when the VPU can easily be mounted on the face piece as most other nations do, but then again, the OM90 was doomed from the start with the ridiculous placement of the drink tube lever lol. Lastly, test the FM53 without the polycarbonate outsert and tell me how the optically correct polyurethane is. You guys are literally trying to sell the OM90 as an “oPtIcAl mAsK” even tho dedicated optical masks have not been used for decades, such as the post WW2 M2-10a1-6. Most modern masks, and emphasis on modern, are compatible with optics without sacrificing peripheral vision. Also, you guys always mention the release of the CM-8M, but when will that finally happen?! Lol bro you guys have been delaying for almost a year now. But i guess that’s great how you guys are FINALLY introducing a six point head harness, among the other improvements that can be made on the OM90 design platform. I mean, the OM90 is literally one of the worst copies of the S10 that did not replicated the best features of the S10 besides its general form (the placement of the lenses are ridiculous with that amount of space in between). I just have to ask, is your NeW aNd ImPrOvEd mask gonna have better nose cup ergonomics than the absurdity the OM90 has? (I’m taking about the narrow nose cup of the OM90).

I got an Airboss LBM with clear/sun outserts, and a filter for $781. It is one of the best masks I own. It also has a feature where it keeps the valve closed until a filter is screwed on and uses the type m adapter for camelbak. It is used by the Australian special forces. I bought it from weapon outfitters.

Good Honest Review. I think Mira is on some stuff when they say the M7 has a better FOV. I have an M7 and a Mask that has a panoramic FOV. Panoramic allows for more peripheral vision. I think the M7 allow for better weapons manipulation and cheek welding. But I do like that you didn't favor either with bias opinions.

Gonna have to be the M40 for me. There's probably better masks, but it's what I know. They were already issuing the M50 during my time, but my unit was still rocking the M40. That, and with the tinted lenses, it is peak drip. To me the M50 looks like a paintball mask- not intimidating at all.

Yeah the c50 comes standard with twin ports. So, assuming you have the Avon filter plug removal tool, you can switch the port configuration to suit your needs.

Just got the Mira safety mask in the mail, but Czech military surplus rather than from mira safety. Seems like a good mask, and I like it more than the standard issue mask (C4) I used in the Canadian army before I got out.

@@mattr.1804 there were a handful of gun stores up here in Canada that got surplus straight from Czech Republic and they were listed for sale as such, and came with a green issue gas mask carrier and NBC suit. Was cheaper than Mira safety, and they actually came sealed in plastic bags the same as brand new ones I had bought from Mira safety.

For instance , are there any NBC Hoods that fit these masks available from this company . What about , a carry pouch , that can be attached to the Leg and waist belt for the mask . And a carry pouch or holster to hold the Canteen for fluids ? Also , what about a replacement of Lenses for the masks ? Can they be replaced or would a person need to throw it out and get a new mask ? …😁….I might have more questions about this subject , but I cannot think of them right now …. Inner creates the seal, outer protects inner from shatter and scratches. Outer can be easily replaced or you can swap lenses for a darker lens. Just don't let your mask rubber get dry rotted and don't spike the mask off the ground like an ape and it won't break off. Even if it does, you have the second lens. Fail to see how that's bullshit but aight.
