Btw, I think those little knobs are called "attenuators". I got 3 moogs (dfam, subharmonic, mother32), who didn't like that they were "semi-modular", he was already spoiled by freedom of full modular. He mentioned the lack of attenuators in the moog patching, and suggested I immediately supplement the moogs with some passive attenuators.

@16:00 It's officially named the modulatory moderatory knob. 🤣 J/k but it does basically moderate the modulation so... Maybe? I guess you could call it a 'modulation mix' knob because your mixing in the modulation signal, so it's just a potentiometer and a resistor, right? So, a knob is a knob. Thanks so much for these tutorials. I just discovered MiRack and I'm finding your vids very helpful!
@brylie_music3 жыл бұрын
The knobs are “attenuverters”, meaning they attenuate (reduce) and invert (x * -1) the signal based on whether turning to the right (attenuation) or left (inverted attenuation) 😃

Very cool tutorial, thank you! I will give this method a try, and send you the result! I’ve already had an idea now for adding an extra twist to this setup 👌😉 Yep. Those adjuster knobs are usually labelled as Mod Amount or Mod Depth on prepared synths. It would be nice to see the knob’s movement being animated, as you get with most other iOS synths, BUT then again, you don’t get that priviledge with real modular hardware, so it would take away a lot of that fun “do it all by ear” experience that you have with hardware. And extra animations on all the modulated stuff would probably add an unnecessary stress to my iPad’s CPU 😅 Thanks as always for the knowledge and inspiration, mate! 👊😃

Can't WAIT to hear what you make with this technique!!! 😁🙏👊 I'm getting your "QingYing" patch in today's video, but I wish it was a TRACK not a patch - it sounds BEYOND AMAZING GOOD! 😲😲😲 💙 You are such an amazing producer and have such an amazing ear for hitting those frequencies "just so". 💙 (There was *one time* that when I automated a knob in miRack - IT MOVED to show the automation. It was AMAZING, and I kinda wish all the modules had an option to show the movement.... It was a mostly all-white distortion module... maybe a sign of future updates, perhaps? 🤤🤤🤤) MIDI LEARN IS COMING!! 👏👏👏

Electronisounds Audio Aww! Thanks, man! That really means a lot! 👊😁 I was actually thinking of creating a few more ambient chilled patches for my collection in miRack and then performing/recording each one as a live jam/track into Wav files. I could then drop those onto audio tracks in Cubasis, arranging them to play one after another, merged together with other little noise/drone-type interludes also from miRack. A sort of modular album, if you will! Hmm...big dreams, but gotta try! Might just work! 🤞🙂 Midi learn, you say!? I was thinking how cool that would be today! Now *that* would make live-jamming of patches *much* easier for performing/recording! A more realistic experience too! 😲😁

I’ve been submitting my miRack patches to Dean just for his “guest patcher” feature and invitation in these vids. But I won’t be sharing the actual files for download anywhere else in the community this time because I’m actually in the process of recording each patch as a full live jam track which will then all be mixed and stitched together to make an album of continuous evolving music 100% miRack modular. I may then post the finished project somewhere like maybe SC or something. 🙏🕷

@spidericemidasiosmusicprod13095 жыл бұрын
Davey Dixon It doesn’t show up in the Tags menu if you search for Limiter. It can be found instead if you search in the Packs menu under Bogaudio (Named LMTR). It’s probably not tagged with the word Limiter, so it’s not being picked up in a Tags search. Hope that helps!

Hey Hey! Yeah, i've had that same issue with the master recorder in VCV Rack... Not sure on this one, really - BUT, a possible work-around here is if you can load miRack as an instrument inside of AUM, then you can record the output of miRack directly using AUM's built-in recorder. Hope that helps!
