I had no cleaning products and had company coming the next day. I didn't want to use vinegar. Broke out the ZOTE, that I had shaved down. Just a little in hot, hot water and wiped down EVERYTHING, followed by a dry cloth. OMG! The smell and it removed that icky, greasy dirt we tend to get. I left to get my food and came back and I swear my house smelled cleaned and LOOKED cleaner! I've been doing it ever since.

Did you know Zote also makes it in a flake form? It's sold by the regular laundry soaps in my local Walmart. That is the only product I use anymore for my laundry. Smells wonderful and no additional chemicals. Bottled laundry detergent is mostly water anyway. Why not go directly to the actually cleaning ingredient! Love this stuff and I still learned even more ways to use the bars watching this to boot! Excellent video!!!

That is what I tell people all the time. With liquid detergent, you are paying for water and then paying more for the plastic container it comes in. Plus buying extra additives and chemicals to keep the liquid the right color, smell, and consistency. But people swear that liquid detergent cleans better. It defies common sense, since your washer can put hot water on the clothes and the clothes get thoroughly agitated in the washer. Powder or grated solids are going to become liquid soap anyway.
@nickys5578
@nickys5578 Ай бұрын
@@lisalapoint7022 well most people use too much soap in their laundry and that leaves soap on the cloth and that attracts dirt faster but those ate the same people using a WHOLE CAP instead of the actual tested (you gotta look at patients) 1-2 table spoons. now most laundry detergent is a DETERGENT not a SOAP yes there is a difference. and people act like they are the same and do the same things.

I am a soap maker. There is nothing unusual at all about soap being made with animal fat. In fact, that is how most soaps were made traditionally. Hunters used the animal fats from their kill, farmers used the animal fats from whatever animal they butchered for food. And FYI, the soaps you buy in the store are mostly not real soap -- they are actually detergents. During WW2, a German scientist discovered detergent and since the oils needed to make soap were rationed and used by the military during the war, the detergent became common in "soap" manufacturing. After WW2 , the soap manufacturers continued to use detergents because much cheaper than using oils. If you read the labels of the soaps available in your store, you will see they are labeled "beauty bar". or "cleansing bar". because by law, they are not soap.

Zote soap has been around for years. I've used it for years. My mom used it. You don't have to disolve after it's grated if you use warm water. We grate it and mix it with Borax or washing soda. Cleans dishes, floors, everything. I do use beef tallow soap for bathing, but I've never used Zote. The white soap works better in laundry.

I buy mine in Mexico also. I use body lotion and oils after a shower right before bed. I was noticing that the fitted sheet was not looking clean after washing, even with oxy. I decided to try the Zote. Since you mentioned the animal tallow I guess that's why it really got the stains out of my fitted sheet. I use primarily white cotton bedding so Zote has been my go- to for reviving my cotton sheets. I also use it with oxy to get my running shoes and white converse sparkling white.

Strong Drawing Salve. Mash granulated sugar + old fashioned lye soap. (Zote). Apply mash once a day & cover with bandage. My grandmother saved me from a life long limp pulling a deeply embedded needle in my foot Drs were going to cut a foot tendon to remove! “Let me try this first”. Took over a week, but the inch long needle popped out of my arch by itself with the drawing salve.

@ yes. You need to lather your skin really well and make sure you wash any clothing or tools that also came in contact with the poison oak. The Urushiol oil is sticky and can last up to 5 YEARS on tools and clothing which is why the PO wont go away. I have literally had it horribly for months at a time. I have had to get multiple rounds of steroids, even. Not anymore!!! Fels Naptha for the win 🏅 Good Luck to you!! I am so happy now!! There’s a video on KZbin of a man that says how to never get a poison ivy rash again you do have to remove the Urishol as soon as you come in he says that you need to scrub your skin and he tried Dawn dishwashing liquid and also A few other products. Dawn Did the best job but it was actually the scrubbing and he said you have to get in between your fingers really well. You should watch the video. Maybe FN Would be even better, but I don’t think that it cures poison ivy that’s already erupted

If the label says soap, then it's soap and probably made mostly from animal fats. If the label says shower bar, it's a detergent made mostly with petroleum derivatives. Zote isn't special because it uses tallow, as most commercial soaps do, but it is a useful and economical soap, and soap is better than detergent sometimes. Putting all that in a bowl for the socks is a silly way to waste soap. Wetting either the garment or soap bar and rubbing it on the soil or stain is still effective, and you can help that out more with a little rub on a small plastic washboard.

I've been using zote as laundry detergent and stain remover for about a year. I have sensitive skin and this hasn't caused any rashes or irritation like detergents do. Smells nice. I grate it up and put it into an empty detergent jug, fill halfway with hot tap water, shake and add some essential oil, shake and add more water. Sometimes I mix in other soaps. Not too scientific about it. Saving LOADS 😂 of money, too. Loads, get it? 😅 😊❤

It was an awesome soap to soak my sons football uniforms in. Lirio does really well with the whites. I think the Zote is safer on colors though. And I used it a lot for the baby clothes as it was more gentle on clothes but still tough on stains.

I love knowing this about it I've been using it as a soak to remove burnt on popcorn that just makes it lift off with no difficulty just makes little pieces of it in hydrogen peroxide and let it sit till it dissolves, it will thicken into a gel-like substance that you can pour into a hand pump and then squirt onto your dishes, as a presoak. It's the best thing I've ever used for burnt on food etc. I also use that for a spot treater. You don't have to boil it. Just grate it and add to straight 3 % hydrogen peroxide work with the soap to peroxide ratio till you get the consistency you like you want it to be pretty thick though but still where it'll pump out in a hand soap dispenser.

Soy argentina y vi muchos videos del jabón Zote. El año pasado un amigo fue de vacaciones a México y le pedí que como souvenir me trajera un Zote, me trajo uno blanco y uno rosa, y no quiero usarlos 😊.

This soap is the Spanish version of castile soap just cheaper. I use Dr. Bronner's Castile soap but this is definitely a good alternative.

I have greasy skin like my dad, and we get pimples often. I went to dermatologist and had expensive soaps with sulphur and other unwritable stuff, and this thing did absolute magic. I wash the dogs with it, and when I do some mechanic stuff and end all greased up, this soap just tears apart the crud and also doesn't cracks up my skin, unlike other specialized soaps like some dishwasher soaps or degreasers. Also, the producers of the soap do brag about not giving any money to the MKT 🤣

Because of having a septic tank (and an HE machine) I am very cautious of using anything that has animal fat. I would like to ask a plumber how this affects the plumbing.

Tallow soap has a balanced pH level, which means it will not cause any damage to pipes or plumbing.

I would say that it's safe since it was what we used before chemical soaps and before we had sewer systems.

@@annsimmons3367 If it cleans grease and breaks down dirt, it doesn't make sense it would clog pipes.

If you throw a thin slice of it in washer, about how big or thick? And does it break down in cold water because we use cold water in Ohio for laundry unless white laundry! Thank you!!!🙏 ❤

I hate to kill the vibe with facts, but: The Environmental Working Group (EWG) rates Zote Pink Laundry Soap as having some health concerns, including some risk of cancer and asthma or respiratory issues. While the white is safer, it is still considered toxic and not recommended for skin contact. I LOVE Tallow in general. I use it as a face cream which has just about cleared all of my sun spots on my face. And I use as an overall moisturizer in the winter with a drop of a clean oil to balance the dairy like smell of the tallow. It does wonders to bring out the color in my tattoos. But all these other ingredients making up the bar soap?
