I didn't realize until watching this deconstruction, but the sample used on the "Drums" channel is the same drum sample from the DDR track "Paranoia". Crazy how after being obsessed with both of these songs for a while, I find out they share a common element. Thanks for your deconstructions by the way, I really dig em ^^

Every single layer of this track is a hypergalactic dark matter drilling coring into the depths of the earth. It's a delight to see just the hows and whys of this deliciously heavy track, my favourite from Kirby 64. Thank you!

A pattern in seeing with all these tracks is how these use more conventional sounds in unusual ways. Using the orchestras in very short, rapid bursts for example. There’s a lot going on in this song. Speaking of songs that have a lot going on in them, I’d love to see a breakdown of the regular Kirby 64 boss theme.

Thanks so much for posting these deconstruction videos! They're enormously helpful for understanding how all the different songs are layered, and for being able to play and hear the tracks in isolation - especially with a dense and chaotic theme like Miracle Matter's. You do a great service for the community, really! 🙂

The reason why some of the instruments are reused from other themes is because Jun Ishikawa learned about Miracle Matter very late into the game's development, so he had to composed the song pretty quickly. Interestingly the song is named “Music 20” in the jukebox which is also the number of faces Miracle Matter has, this song does not appear in the game's OST.

2:47 Now I finally know what the sound is. When the entire song was playing, I could only hear as some sort of wind-ish noise, but now hearing it isolated, it sounds more like a record scratch. Some of these layers I couldn't hear through all the chaos of the song. For some reason my mind associates the sound of 2:58 with some sort of wood instrument, not cymbals 3:25 I love that short build up and the following drum pattern Could you make a deconstruction of final destination or meta crystal from smash 64?
@Lodac1977 Жыл бұрын
2:47 is the same sample used for the machinery sounds in the Shiver Star Factory but sped up. I also thought the cymbal tapping was wood but hearing it deconstructed it definitely sounds more metallic.
@perfectdisharmony4017 Жыл бұрын
Final Destination will be uploaded within the week! And I'll make a note about displaying stereo oscilloscopes in future videos.
@johndoing62969 ай бұрын
I'm not sure, I think 2:47 is the sound of a car's crankshaft, when it is failing to start. Could be a sign of faulty spark plugs or something else. You can hear it more clearly in Factory Inspection.

I base how much I like Miracle Matter remixes largely by how they handle the Timpani/Rhythm Synth (or even notice that it's there to begin with).

How did you make this? I like to arrange songs, and if this is a tool or a program or something that automatically separates out the different sound channels, then it would be extremely helpful.
@perfectdisharmony4017 Жыл бұрын
For this song, I used N64MidiTool and N64SoundbankTool to extract Kirby 64's soundtrack and its soundbank from the game itself. Then I converted the song into a MIDI and split the channels in FL Studio. I exported each channel as a WAV file and used Corroscope to make the oscilloscope video. Hope this helps.

0:28 That part reminds me of a Splatoon 3 soundtrack, could it be that Splatoon was inspired by this track? Or are both games inspired by something else?
@perfectdisharmony40176 ай бұрын
It's possible that splatoon's soundtrack could've inspired by this one; we won't really know unless the Splatoon composers say something. I can definitely hear the resemblance tho.
