Hi Jackson, I assume what this story tells is true and I expect that it is. You seem to have been given very true and genuine people who now are your parents and I am so happy for you. I have had a similar experience, but it was different. I was not as lucky as you. But I have survived and have done well by myself. I have no advice to give you except always listen to your true heart. Stay at school as long as you are able and learn something that will help your future. The file that foster teens have is the same record that adults have and I think one of the other issues with our society is that we judge people based on our past, and this is more apparent in the system and has a society we need to stop doing it

wow these parents shouldn't have adopted him they talk about him like he's second class and they humbled themselves to step down and help him. They talk like they adopted a naughty dog that sheds too much but they are trying to find the good things in him

@Gabriella I guess we didn't watch the same video. The mom said when he was leaving she wondered to herself "Why am I sending my child back?" and the son said "I feel like they've always been my parents." Sounds like everyone is happy.

That's not the impression I got. I think they painted a realistic picture of adoption. It's well known that teens are the least likely to be adopted. There's a reason people avoid them. It's more challenging to raise a grown child who has likely been through very bad experiences and has trust issues.

It sounds like you didn’t really pay attention to what anyone said and then made assumptions based on your misperceptions (or projections?). Where in the video did they talk like they adopted a naughty dog? They expressed their hesitation about adopting a teenager they didn’t raise because they had no real way of knowing if they would be a good match for each other. This is very helpful to prospective adoptive parents. It’s a realistic, very human look into adoption of teenagers and not viewed through the rose-tinted lenses of other videos.
