A greek-flavoured rock song, inspired by Supergiant's Hades and by themes of quarantine & longing for the outside world.

LYRICS:
Amid these shades
Forever drifting nowhere
Ever kept confined
Outside the gates
A taste of freedom so rare
Worlds I long to find
I can hear the distant calls
There is no easy way out of here
There is no easy way, persevere
There is so much more beyond these walls
There is no easy way, out of here
There is no easy way, persevere
A friend afar
A shared and fleeting moment
Calling out in vain
I see no stars
Aligned they keep us frozen
Fated to remain
I can hear the distant calls
There is no easy way out of here
There is no easy way, persevere
There is so much more beyond these walls
There is no easy way, out of here
There is no easy way, persevere
Stone cracks
Building the walls back
Keep track
Waiting for the day
To stride
Out of the inside
Far far away
I can hear the distant calls
There is no easy way out of here
There is no easy way, persevere
There is so much more beyond these walls
There is no easy way, out of here
There is no easy way, persevere
Far far away

You ever considered doing a Transistor song? I personally preferred it to Bastion... Although Calamity is such a good song; one of the first times I heard it was on the Escapist's live Miracle Of Sound event... ahhh, those were the days... jumpin' around to the encore of Nord Mead.

Heh, I was just going to ask if it was concerning that one could view a song about a man struggling to break free from the Underworld as a metaphor for our current reality. Great work, adding it to my list of songs to fall asleep to. (Of which all of the songs that are permanent fixtures of that playlist are yours.)

This one hit even closer to home for me than expected. Four years ago now, I was put on sick leave due to severe burnout, and I've been struggling with depression, anxiety, isolation and rehabilitation ever since. There certainly is no easy way out of here. But I have to perservere. For there is so much more beyond these walls. Thank you, Gavin. I need this reminder quite often, and this was a good one.

@@dex1157 Gav references previous related music a LOT. Here are a couple examples of it that I can think off the top of my head: -All of his _Dark Souls_ songs use the same leitmotif at least once -All of his _Assassin's Creed_ songs use some form of the phrase "justice runs in crimson rivers" -His songs Beauty Bleak and Some Things Never Change for _Fallout 3_ and 4, respectively, use the line "Sterile soil will harden. Wasted world, my garden." They even use it with the same vocal melody. -His songs City of Night, City of Dreams, and Neon Red for _Cyberpunk 2077_ use the phrase "running out on the edge" repeatedly. City of Night and City of Dreams also use the line "ghost in the city of X," with X being night and dreams, respectively.

I've seen so much great material from this game and I almost bought it two-ish weeks ago. I guess I have to buy it now. Your music always puts me in a good mood Gav, I hope your passion for this work never fails.

Gosh darn it, Gav. Every year, I think you've outdone yourself. Then I listen to a song like this and I'm like, "HE'S DONE IT AGAIN!". Can't wait for level 11!

Aside from being amazing song, it also captures the Greek sound and the atmosphere of Balkan fairytales/myths. Of course, there is a meaning outside the context of the game as always. Great job, Gav!

Absolutely love the short bursts where you come on screen during the song. I really hope you keep it in future songs, it really fits well. I also love the Calamity callback. Haven't listened to that one in a while.

I was debating whether purchasing this game or save it for Hyrule Warriors, and it seems all it took to convince me to choose this one was a song by Miracle of Sound.

It's fascinating how you always capture the quality and style of these games. I clicked this in the background for music while I was working from home today, and it didn't properly click to me that it was you until about two-thirds through the song. Well done!
