All of her classmates didn't just trust the exchange student, Adrian never trusted her and tried to stand up for Marinette, rose never really has an opinion about things that aren't love, Alya didn't trust her for a second and went to help find evidence, chole just liked seeing Marinette in trouble, Sabrina was just there because Chloe was there, only Alex looked upset, everyone just ties the whole room in on the hate so they could say "Marinette helps everyone but when she needs help everyone turns their backs on her". There has to be a line drawn in the sand to what you're willing to ignore, everyone stood up for her about the cheating on the test, they were skeptical about her pushing Lila down the stairs, but stealing from her is probably where most people would draw the line, Marinette isn't against stealing from people as proven in other episodes which is why Alex probably believed she did that.
