For those who don’t know, animating black hair can sometimes be very difficult so as a result people added lighter colors to trick ur eyes into seeing movement. With marinette, they made her hair a dark blue, even though it’s supposed to be black. So yes, this season her hair will be black although some scenes do appear to be dark blue.

Actually, the blue is intentional! They wanted to pay homage to the 2d comic/anime tradition of a blue highlight on Black hair, so the plan was to make only the highlighted part of the hair appear blue using certain lighting techniques! Somewhere along the way though, some new animation studios just either didnt know how to do that or didn't care, so they left the hair fully blue without attempting the intended effect i suppose

@maxmaximoff_ The hair and eyes were already blue for as early as in the 2012 preview => kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJezhGiIosyLbsU And it's not like Marinette is the only Asian character with blue hair, Kagami has it too (probably because she's a partial expy of Rei Ayanami), and Sabine has a darker shade of blue IIRC. Only Fei and Marinette's uncle have completely black hair (and even for these two, Fei has a dyed lock of hair). What's with the dyed locks of hair Miraculous by the way ? Like it's so incredibly trendy that even _Nathalie_ of all people has one ? 🤭 Edited for grammar

It seems like they decided to accentuate marinette's Chinese features in the new art style. I have heard a lot of people complain that her original design doesn't Express her ethnicity very well, so I wonder if that's why they did that.

Errr, in the animesque 2D PV for the series made long before the first season with the Toei, Marinette had already blue hair and blue eyes. I don't think this is a case of whitewashing, it was just keeping this established design. Blue is also a well-established stand-in for black, it's easier to shade and light. Even some some black DIY hair colouring sold in supermarket are marketed as "blue", possibly because even if they're black, they give blue shades ti the hair. How many characters from anime don't look Japanese at all even if their show is set in nowadays Japan ? Just think of the classmates of Ichigo from Bleach, or Ichigo himself (really, orange hair?). And Marinette is not 100% Chinese, she has mixed-blood, so heredity naturally tones diwn some features. For her blue eyes, I'm not qualified enough in genetics to say this is possible, I just know blue eyes are recessive, but also that brunetttes with very dark hair and very deep blue eyes do exist. In fact, blondes with blue eyed are the odd ones, since both traits are recessive (so rarer, so more appealing). Last but not least, in the show it is said she has black hair EDIT: And how could I forget this ? Kagami has also blue hair, Sabine and Mrs Tsurugi have shades of blue in their hair. They only prominent Asian characters who have jet-black hait in the show are Fei and Marinette's uncle.

So Marinette's hair actualy is supposed to be black with a blue highlight as a nod to the artstyle of comics superheroines! That was very hard to do with 3d though, so some of the studios working on the show just made her hair fully blue.

7:50 Ladybug wasn’t giving back the dog miraculous, Sabrina was trying to return it to Ladybug, but ladybug refused for whatever reason, only saying that she knows Sabrina is a good person. Although a lot of us wonder what Sabrina will do with herself now that she is no longer friends with Chloe, given her history and the cruel pranks she went along with alongside Chloe, it felt like the show wasn’t done with her just yet. Something is being planned with Sabrina.

For me Sabrina is one of the characters with the biggest room for development in S6. She is basically a blank sheet at this point and has to rethink her whole life, while on a meta level they need to find a new spot in the cast and narrative purpose for her. Personnally I think of two character "archs" for her, even though supporting characters with their own archs (excluding the villains) are scarce (I think I can identify Chloé, Nathalie, Félix, Kagami but that's debatable, Sabrina a little, and Zoé): -> will she meet Chloé again? If so, how will it play out ? -> she might acknowledge herself as queer (?) There are some ambiguous moments in Oblivio ("Playing Super Penguino together with Chloé"? Yeeeah? Just like Alya & Nino, Ivan & Mylène, Rose & Juleka... I saw what you did there writers 😉) and Miraculer, and her devotion to Chloé might then get some explanation through herself not understanding her own feelings by then. I personally ship Zoé and Sabrina, but the biggest problem I see is how Zoé could fall for Sabrina. Not that Sbrina is note cute or repelling character-wise, but until now her most consistent trait is how she's discreet and seen to be innocuous to the point of being ignored at times, what was shown to be useful for doing evil deeds like breaking in Marinette's room or locking Juleka in the restroom. Being akumatized into Vanisher of course goes with this theme of hers. So if Sabrina gets a crush on Zoé, her biggest difficulty would probably be to get noticed by the latter. Not that Zoé would consciously ignore her, but Sabrina needs to stand out more. Also, the writers might "use" Sabrina to show how someone correctly redeems oneself according to their own opinion, and bring in a still unreformed Chloé for good measure to piss misaimed Chloé fans 😜 😂.

Zamber, season 6 will be fire!!! Lila/Cerise will really outdo Gabriel in everything!! Apparently, we will hardly watch her transformed. For the time being, she will present herself as a figure with no define gender and the heroes won't even know her villain name. Everything about her will be unknown to Ladybug, what will make her a much harder opponent to fight than Hawk Moth. And the way she akumatizes people... just that makes her stand out from Hawk Moth. And I am also extremely curious to see the full extension of the upgrades she is going to do to her Akumas.

I can't help but wonder what the battles would be like from here on out. Normally, Ladybug only calls upon the auxiliary heroes when facing a strong opponent and typically only one or two. Now, she has given the miraculous out permanently to the other holders, so they can transform and join the battle whenever they want. With so many of them, half of them can join any given fight if they happen to be free. On the other side, Lilia or whatever she's calling herself now, is by herself. She doesn't have Gabriel's resources or even the peacock, so she is stuck with sending out one villain at a time without support unless she joins them in battle. She's also young and should suffer from the five-minute time limit.

At the end of the London special Marinette said something about improving the miraculouses (and you can see a green dot on the inside of the black cat ring when she gives it to Plagg,) so my guess is that she added some way to contact the miraculous holders so that all of them won't show up every time.)

I always knew from the start even in the unfinished version that the new animation would be cute. While everyone was hating on it so much. Seeing the leaks for Episode 3 I am excited to see the season now. SAMG studios was the best out of the 5 for the old animation that people think of Apparently Marinette does have freckles it’s just the old animation never showed it but this one shows it more. Which is a very cute feature on her!! I love the black hair on Ladybug & everyone looking different. The blue hair was suppose to pay tribute to comics such as Wonder Woman since Thomas is a comic person.

Actually the old animation did show Marinette's freckles, in close-up shots at least. They are just not that numerous. Surprisingly (or not ?), Kagami also has freckles but there are much more and they're more visible. No wonder Adrien fell for both 😂

So as seen from the Finale and the London special everyone is a permanent miraculous holder and I’m guessing something happen since we do see Rogercop again and Sabrina is technically a permanent holder so I’m guessing that something will happen that she wants to give back her miraculous until Ladybug talks her out of it. And hopefully we’ll see these “new features” that ladybug said they’ll have since she mentioned it at the end of the London Special I noticed that all these new designs are updated and not just the costumes that are updated but also the camouflage miraculous since in the first trailer we got for this season Alyas miraculous in camouflage looks different than her usual in the old animation since it’s not so obvious and is more silver and the form isn’t of a fox tail and now in this trailer the miraculous Sabrina had was just a orange metal collar around her neck but it seems that she’s wearing it backwards where you can see the ends of the collar of the miraculous Yep I was expecting that since I the first episode is way to far ahead. I think Sabrina will find ladybug and give it back to her. But then roger gets akumitized and but it requires the dog miraculous to be active. Ladybug will hand it back to Sabrina who will say she doesn’t deserve it. Something referencing Chloe and her dad. Prompting ladybug to say you are a good person

So, back to season 1 again, the first episode to do with weather gets to be out of order. Is stormy weather cursed or something? Didn't matter so much in season 1 wether stormy weather or bubbler were first, but that was back when it was a old fashioned villain of the week no real overarching story that can be messed up by going out of order. You could say this is season 1 of "Lila is the true villain".

But if you think that’ll make me forgive Marinette for the season 5 finale and the London special. Think again! But I can’t wait to see Kagami and Felix in this animation for season 6!
