Miraculous TEACHER (Bonds Beyond Fate Part 17)

Welcome to Part 17: Miraculous TEACHER, in which we continue from the last part after Alya and Chloe were sent to the headmaster's office for having a fight. The headmaster came close to expelling Alya, but Ms. Bustier came in to give a more fair judgement. One of the girls is relieved, the other feels betrayed.

Miraculous Ladybug is a show with fundamental issues and its canon origin for the characters does not escape from being problematic. So out of my disappointment, and with a sprinkle of inspiration, I rewrote the origin story into something I think would be more enticing as a show. I think this version works out some of the frustration that the current iteration of the show has including giving Master Fu and Cat Noir reasons for existing, doing away with the love square as soon as possible, providing the opportunity for stakes that actually matter, making Gabriel more interesting, and actually connecting Gabriel to Marinette. Are all of these things necessary to make Miraculous Ladybug better? No! The current elements of the show are mostly fine, the execution just needs some help. Nevertheless, I tampered with the story anyway =P

Honestly, I'd like like to think that perhaps she had heard some of the conversation. She may be mad at Chloe for everything that had happened since childhood, but there could be a tinge of sympathy in Ayla if she heard what was being said. Then again, she'd think she was fibbing or something to get in less trouble.

I feel like the added attention Chloe craves from Audrey is very in character for her. Although, I like the therapy aspect that could possibly help her (if she didn't feel stigmatized by it). If she does become Queen Bee, it would be a lot of work on Chloe's part that she might let her defenses down and be a half decent person. Overall a good chapter and hope to see more in the future. 🧠 Like a lot of things in the show, Miss Bustier's mentor role was a wasted potential. So many hints were given that Chloe could see her teacher as an actual, healthy, mother figure, but none of it was executed. 1. Oof Chloe's reaction to therapy was good. In a writing way, i mean. 2. YES genuis Chloe is good and im excited for how that makes her queen bee role more unique. I havent seen much of the show but i dont think theres any book smart heroes so thats good thinking. Also just the contrast since shes the popular girl type. Wonderful idea. 3. Okay so I take back everything I said about Chloe not being smart enough to to do the faucet prank since….she apparently IS smart enough in this version of the show. I’ve seen a couple of people make this hc of Chloe being an actual hidden genius before but only a few. It’s actually a very interesting take on her. And the way you used it here, it gives herself so much more depth than the show did. I was skeptical at first because I thought she was lying and had a hidden Sabrina do her HW or something but no, she’s an actual genius in this version and I love it. And I also LOVE Ms Bustier being an actual teacher, not only because she gives actual reasonable consequences to Chloe but you made her very compassionate, something I was hoping to get from the real Bustier but it never came to pass. Obviously there’s something to be said about Chloe and her skewed way of seeing therapy, saying it’s for “weak” people. That has to be the fault of her “mother”. Maybe in the far future she can grow to understand that therapy isn’t what she thinks it is. But then again therapy isn’t for everyone and if therapy really doesn’t help this Chloe then that’s valid.

🧠OMG! This. Is. Genius!!!🧠 💛Aloe, you created a masterpiece again! This episode got me a lot of 🥲🥲🥲 🥲🥲🥲 emotions, I felt I wanted to hug Chloé, you made Caline into a real teacher who actually wants to help her students, the way the cannon show wasted the two (mostly Chloé but you get the idea), I'm over the moon with joy to see your interpretation of how everything could've been handled. 💛 Alya took her sweet time cleaning up the mess, then it was just Chloé and Miss Bustier alone in the classroom just them. Bustier reached out to her with kindness, the video audio of the fight, that quote "If you play with fire we can protect you if we have our eye on you, but if you persist and we take our eyes away for just one second you'll get burned." means that if Chloé continues to torment others then she'll be burned to ashes. She knows that Chloé vandalized the classroom seats when Chloé blubbered out about Marinette's lock and faucets in the bathroom, that when Miss Bustier got frustrated and tried to reason with her with her own record. She and the other teachers were informed that the girls would attend the same school and the past mishaps, shocked her nervously, originally Chloé was supposed to have contact with the two of them. But Bustier wanted her potential to grow, by putting the three in the same class together and we all know how that turned out, but she does regret not doing more for them. Chloé asks if that's what Bustier saw in her someone broken who can be fixed. But Bustier answers her that she wants to support her, but Chloé doesn't believe her, only to be asked why Chloé focused on Marinette, but not Alya. Only Chloé answers that's it Alya's fault for everything and she wouldn't understand, but Bustier realizes this more complex situation the longer they exchange the more her confidence goes down. When Bustier suggests that Chloé should go to therapy, that's what gets her scared, because she doesn't want to, because she doesn't want to be weak and disappointed. Bustier curiously asks her if someone told her, Chloé answers with a burst of energy saying that everything is fine and tells herself she's beautiful, smart, elegant, and exceptional, and tells Bustier that she's perfection. Bustier saw that Chloé was crying as she tried to hide with her laughing, she then gave her a big hug that stopped the laughs, making Chloé confused too and break down into sobbing, the two had a few moments with no words, Chloé begged Bustier to not sends her to therapy, fearing her mother will disown her, she sadly ament it that the last time she to therapy her mother saw he as a disgrace, Bustier thought to herself if Audrey is terrible, cause she knows that she's absent in Chloé's life and left a painful mark on her and as for her father who's barely ever around, he's the mayor thus he's greatly busy should make for his own daughter, she still believes that Chloé should go to therapy, but as a formal recommendation since as it will only make it difficult for her, Chloé thank her and see that Bustier does care for her. Then Bustier talked about the current issue and told her that she needed to stop tormenting Marinette or Alya and create a solution that would help all of them, Bustier suggested that she could go to high school early, cause her grades are higher than the rest of the students, but she decline the offer, because she doesn't want them to know that she's smart and to be with Adrien claiming to be her reason. Going to the flashback, we learn when Chloé was a child her mother Audrey was quite impressed by her intelligent brain, saying that she was exceptional, cause with her intelligence and Zoe’s art creations their family name will go down in history. Audrey planned to transfer Chloé to a school to increase her talent, but it was in New York, Chloé didn’t want to leave Adrien alone, so she tried to explain to her mother that Adrien is home-school, travels a lot, and she his only friend, only for Audrey to replied that when Chloé gets older that she’ll be busy in the field science that she could meet up with him for lunch or something, then ask her mother if she’ll be busy with work will she be able to spend time with her mother, and Audrey told her no cause she’ll be busy with her fashion empire, helping Zoe, and saying that they’ll get together some time. Chloé’s heartbreak at the realization of reality, she tells her mother she wants to stay, will study a lot, and begs Audrey to stay in Pairs with Zoe too. Audrey tells her that she’ll be useless if she stays and asks her if doesn’t she want to make her proud, Chloé wants to but doesn’t want to be alone, she wants to be with Adrien. Audrey is furious, she leaves her behind and tells Chloé that she’s disappointed. Bustier understands her more and shows maturity, but Chloé is now suspended for two weeks, accepts her punishment as well, and will clean up all of her mess too. And true she's didn't apologize to girls yet, one day she'll will. 10/10 well done! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
