Hi, when you started the blanket in this video I noticed you did the chain and the first row at the same time. I’ve never seen it done that way. Could you make a video explaining this please? Thank you!🥰

This is what you call a "long tail" foundation single crochet. To practice, make the tail as long as your forearm. Do a slip knot. With the long tail in front and the working yarn at the back, yarn over the tail end on the hook, then yarn over the working yarn on the hook and pull through to make a single crochet. Hope that made sense.
