The older I get, the more I see that Miranda priestly was actually extremely patient with her employees. It’s a high pressure job where everyone has to deliver results right away. It’s annoying for people to be unprepared, lagging behind, or not have the right info that they’re expected to have
@roisinnigcrainn77223 жыл бұрын
_Exactly._ I'm getting into journalism myself and I cannot stress the importance of scheduling. If you're incapable of staying on that rigid schedule, if you can't get your work in on time, that's putting the entire publication at risk. Magazines and newspapers _have_ to have tight deadlines so they can send articles, stories and photos off for printing. Teams of people are relying on you to have your shit together, to have constant fresh ideas and to be a tireless worker. If you can't deal with that responsibility, this isn't the career path for you. And I say that in the politest way possible. Miranda was more patient and lenient with Andy than I would've been.
@youthisreadwrong22743 жыл бұрын
Nah, that Harry Potter book thing was impossible lol
@cathydiane25583 жыл бұрын
@@youthisreadwrong2274 Andy was a dumbass for screwing that job up. The twins were obviously lying, and she decided to listen to them instead of calling Emily for help. Gd knows Emily is probably on call 24/7 like everyone else And in doing so, Andy completely embarrassed Miranda. Miranda could have yelled at her, fired her on the spot, or found a way to embarrass her in front of her coworkers. Instead she gave her another challenge Is Miranda a good boss? No. Is she nice or at least reasonable? No. But some of the “nice” bosses I’ve worked for were not nearly as patient as this.

I'm not even kidding when I say our school dean in high school was EXACTLY LIKE THIS! Had the same hair color, haircut, attitude and fashion omfg. She was also tasked with interviewing all the students that applied for our school (coz we were kinda exclusive and had a limited student number) and I'm proud to say I kinda nailed that shit, coz she assigned me to the first section. There was a time in 7th grade where phones were banned, and whenever there's news that she's walking in the hallway, we would hide our phones (even threw mine outside near the plants) and collectively clean the room. 9th grade came, and she became our Physics teacher AND OMFG. She was fucking hilarious. We all had good grades coz we were assigned to answer by our seating arrangement and we all had fair chances. We understood her lessons, passed the exams, and literally loved her and laughed with her in class. Just not outside tho LMFAO. She even mentioned to us how she knew we were all just fake about the cleaning thingy whenever she was around and how we all greet her sweetly lmfao. She's one of my favorite teachers in High School. Back then I couldn't stand this character and felt bad for Endy but looking back at everything and remembering how mom's job was from an adult's standpoint everything makes sense. It's a job with many stressful responsibilities that will be dumped on you if you can't put your foot down and thus you'll be responsible for any delays and messups; not communicating demands and goals clearly with brevity & no room for compromise will disrupt the process across all other links in the production chain.
