Hey Miranda. For the Trails magazine, one thing I'd love to read about is hiking / camping with a dog. I have a Samoyed named Reginald, and I'd love to hike with him, but it scares me with all the preparation that would be required. Also, for stocking stuffers, small carabiners to help organise gear, and a pocket bellows to help with lighting campfires!

Loved the video! It would be awesome if you could post another one next year but a little bit earlier because secret santa exchanges and just in general gift buying is easier to do and we have a better chance to get it in time the earlier we order it, i say this because where i live there aren’t many shops for stuff like this and buying online is the only option. A side from that i loved the video. Keep up the incredible work- a fan from mexico

Ok but the Pepsi shown is apparently discontinued so you'll have to get from grey market dealer. So you need this to massively blow up. But if you go with a different one get on an ADs list now because the wait is long. Might have a better chance with an Explorer II. Alternatively, I hear good things about the Garmin Instinct. Apparently it's great for back packing.

Just ordered a kula (amongst some other things), can’t wait to actually get to try it! But have tried the Nemo pillow since you recommended it and I disliked it so much😬 it was too thin for me to be comfortable on it and it started leaking the first trip i was using it on. I woke up several times during the nights because all the air had leaked out. However, I agree that a pillow is a must on a several day hike😊

The flextail tiny pump 2 can also be used to deflate bags. During my next trip to the sun I will try a new method of packing which is to remove the air in my packing bags and I will use my flextrail tiny pump to do so.

I haven’t quite mastered my flex tail tiny pump yet (pulling it out without deflating in the process) but I love the concept and that it’s a tiny light 💡too
@borobdin9 ай бұрын
How were you blowing it up before without it deflating when you stopped blowing? Pretty much ever pad I've seen either has a one way valve or an external twist lock. One way valve ones shouldn't deflate when you remove the pump (make sure you're engaging the one way valve, some have that nested inflate plug within a deflate plug design and others have a switch between deflate and inflate). If it's an external twist lock, then don't pull the pump. Just leave it on the whole time while locking it.

Can anyone vouch for the quality of the Garmin Instinct? I have a fenix 2 bought in 2015 that still works, except that Bluetooth seems to have died (it’s also monster sized and I can’t wear it all the time). When the fenix 2 stopped working on the road, I bought a Forerunner 35 that had connection problems and died for good after one year and 12 days. I considered the Instinct, but they were sold out of the smaller version, and in any case I was hesitant because I don’t trust Garmin quality after the forerunner 35 experience. In august I bought a forerunner 45 that has been buggy connection-wise from the start. I’ve called Garmin at least six times (other times I figured out the issue myself), but they refuse to acknowledge that I have a defective watch. They seem to think it’s normal to have to completely reset and reregister the watch. Who’s had an Instinct that has lasted, trouble free?

I find half used canisters here and there and end up not needing to buy half as much fuel. Also, when legislation permits, a twig stove is so cool and environmentally friendly, so that is my first gift to any backpacker/hiker friends.
