I am so excited to hear about The Oxford Book of Theatrical Anecdotes! I love live theatre, and before everything went off the rails I would usually see at least one or two plays every single weekend. And that book also sounds like it would make a great gift for some of people I know who work in the theatre.

Great recommendations as always, Miranda, you never fail to offer such an interesting mix! I now think I have to add the theatrical anecdotes book to my wishlist, to join Miss Mole and The Biscuit, which were already there. (I so love the look of The biscuit, it even looks like a tin!). And Keep Moving sounds like the perfect book for now, capturing the mood of many of us, I imagine ... As for Nigella, I totally agree with you, she's such an evocative writer, and this looks like the kind of cookbook you take to bed, like How to eat was, lovely! (I bet the audio read by her will be fabulous)

I’m normally as strictly fiction kind of girl, but having watched a number of your videos now, I’m definitely broadening me reading horizons and picking up more and more non fiction. The Theatrical Anecdotes is going on my list, and The Biscuit looks so lush, it’d be rude not to! I hope you manage to track down my childhood favourite, the lemon puff 🍋. I love the premise of The Magic Hour, I’m not a big reader of poetry but my daughter loves it so this seems like a great book to share with her 😍. I’d be interested to hear what you think of Jonathan Strange a Mr Norrell, it’s been on my list for quite some time ☺️

I used to predominately read fiction for pleasure too, but over the past 4-5 years, I've increasingly enjoyed a range of non-fiction. Hope your daughter likes The Magic Hour! I live on a farm and the swallows suddenly arrive one day summertime and then all leave suddenly, but my awareness of them is vague, so I might buy that swallows book to understand them more 🐦
