Am from PH but when Albert said those words, it doesn't triggered me at all. The first thing that comes to my mind is that he only did it to boost his morale. I could even feel the pressure on him since he is replacing Kairi and people are expecting him to perform as good as Kairi, or even better. All that's left is walk his talk. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. I do believe that when Albert made those statements, he already prepared himself when it backfires. The real question is, how much he could take?

I get it, and it's a noble thing what's Albert trying to do, which is self confidence and to show that confidence. However, the choices of words is the reason why this is happening, people will probably won't use that phrase against him if he didn't say "not gonna lose a single match". If Albert say things like "we will ensure to improve more and show our best performance from now on" it won't left as negative impact as today

Albert with his words, shows confidence. I don't blame him if he was not able to meet what he said. Stronger teams are always there, but it does not mean that he was wrong with his statement. It only shows that his confidence was not enough to win matches. But please note that he was speaking for his country and I know that you share the same thought before the matches, it was his country he is representing. Countrymen should still be proud of him even if they lose. it's just that it was not enough, even if he is confident.
