Mirror 14364 Restoration

Built originally in 1969 this old Mirror had been sitting in the original owner/builder's garden for years. He passed away a number of years ago unfortunately but his wife didn't want to see the boat thrown out if possible. She offered it to me for free if I would do my best to restore it and sail it again. It was a lot of work but it is a lovely little boat. The lady who gave me the boat and her son were thrilled to see the photos of their old boat sailing again.

These are, as I have come to learn, truly wonderful boats. Todate I have had the great pleasure to find and restore two M-11's Thanks to your video, I now see that doing this kind of restoration is not limited to one crazy hillbilly in West Virginia. If I knew how, I would send you a file on my efforts. Thanks for sharing mate.

I've just had No. 29169 gifted to me in a similar state of decay, so this is incredibly useful in showing just how much dental work is achievable. I had already planned to sheath the bottom as you've done, but now I can see it will be really essential! When you were fitting the new pieces, did you tape and epoxy both sides of the joins? How much of the original taping on the joins did you replace?

She gave it to you for free only if you restore her? Given its condition, she should've paid you to remove it from her yard! Nice job, pity the video wasn't longer.
