I honestly LOVE this movie. Better than that Huntsman one to be honest. Characters are vibrant and funny, and the story isn't afraid to make a few twists and turns to the fairy tale while not changing the storyline completely. Its hilarious, and the most colorful setting and costumes I have seen. It has the same charm Cinderella (2015) shares. Can't really understand why the distaste for it. To each their own, I guess.

@@camilaparada1795 the main thing people criticize about the new one is that its mentioned again and again how "she's not gonna be saved by a prince", "she's not gonna search for true love" and "she's gonna be the leader she knows she can be". These heavily imply that love and romance are bad things and you should only aspire to be a strong, powerful leader. People mainly dislike that, since feminism is supposed to be about women having the ability to do anything, and you should be allowed to want love or to have simple goals if you want to. The race was also criticized but i don't agree with that.

Theirs a clear intent on the creator part that it's not meant to be taken seriously, from the set design to the style of acting. In comparison, the Disney live action doesn't seem to know what direction it wants to go.

Now this is how you make a live action my favorite rendition, the dwarves were epic and truly diverse, the princess is great an truly empowered not toxic girl boss, the Queen is funny Disney ought to have taken notes from this one but they chose not to. Tarsem Singh seriously needs to make a comeback with another fairy tale movie again for the new generation, like maybe the Six Swans or an accurate live-action version of the Snow Queen fairy tale. The way he crafted this version of Snow White with such creativity and symbolism as well as Snow White’s character development is just gorgeous, badass, hilarious and brilliantly written. Disney is decaying with disappointing live-actions and sequels these days.

@@manuelorozco7760, one of the dwarves being killed off really bothered me because of how in the original fairy tale, there are supposed to be SEVEN dwarves. SEVEN! That’s one of the many things I really love about Mirror Mirror. When you write a version of the Snow White fairy tale, you’re only supposed to stick to the lore of who gets killed in the original story and who doesn’t, which Snow White and the Huntsman didn’t follow on obviously. Plus, who could hate a romantic adventurous fairy tale movie with Julia Roberts in the villains’ seat?? Literally! She’s one of those many villains who you despise a couple of times of what they’ve done, but you just. can’t. hate. them. because of the actor/actress they play. Or not. Tangled, for example, has Gothel gaslighting Rapunzel for standing up to herself and tries to scare Rapunzel into making her stay in the tower because of magical hair that can heal anything. Once Rapunzel leaves, however, Gothel tries to convince her that Flynn is a liar and a thief through her song reprise which imo is WAY more haunting than the original song. When I saw the movie as a kid, I didn’t truly understand the situation between Rapunzel and Gothel, I just thought Gothel loved Rapunzel’s hair because it was soft and golden or something like that when I was learning how to read. But back to our opinions on our versions of Snow White, our opinions are valid and fine as long as we’re both happy.

The fact that this parody and reimagining of Snow White is better than Disney's is actually kind of sad. Lily Collins looks the part, acts the part and even speaks the part. To me she is Snow White.
