I had a gd250n for two years. Bought it with 11k km, sold it with 27k km. Rode it in the city, on the highway, in really bad fire trails also. It took it all and never missed a beat. On the highway, it will sit at 120km/h all day, and not break a sweat, and there was plenty of juice left for takeovers. The dude I sold it to, loved it also and rode the sh!t out of it. He sold it with 70k km, not a single problem, just regular maintenance, oil changes, brake pads, chain and sprockets, consumables only. Without a doubt, a very, very good bike and solidly built. Great commuter, 27 km/l in city traffic. Would buy again anytime. I really can tell you know what you're talking about. Cheers, pal.

As a beginner I really think this is one of the best bikes you can get. I haven’t even put it over 75 mph yet but I’m very excited. The exhaust is on the actual bottom of the bike so there’s no risk of burning your ankle or leg, the clutch is very easy to learn, and I love the gear gauge. I've watched several other videos on this bike, and none of them knew anything about history of this bike's EXIV name or the EZ SUIT system. That was also a cool story about you meeting the Hyosung folks at your local dealer and you offer a lot of good info and advice during this test ride, thanks. Question: Do you think this bike would be comfortable for a guy 5'6" or would the cockpit feel too aggressive due to this rider because of having to reach even more for the handlebar? And, do you think that for light touring a Honda CB300R might be better due to a more upright sitting position on the bike?

I am no expert hit this is something I do find a bit interesting about engines so I did a little research. The reason why Single cylinder engines have a lot of torque is because they are, relatively, big single cylinders with comparable engine stroke. The engine stroke is a massive component of the torque (an engine bore & stroke pretty much sets the base for what the engine is designed for). For example using the same displacement Hyosung GD250R, single cylinder, 73 x 59.6 mm Bore:Stroke (~28 Horses, ~19 Torque), 8 valve Ninja 250, Twin cylinder, 62.0 mm × 41.2 mm Bore:stroke (~35 Horses, ~15 Torque), 8 valve An oldie but a goodie for this comparison, Suzuki GW250, 53.5 x 55.2 mm Bore Stroke (~26 Horses, ~18 Torque), 4 valve There is a lot of information missing but this is to give a very rough estimation, and idea of what I am trying to say. An engine with a large bore has a lot of RPM's, and therefore power strokes. This gives the engine an innate leaning to low torque but high horsepower and RPM's An engine with a long stroke has less RPM's, less power strokes, BUT it extracts more work out of the fuel. The long stroke gives the engine more burn time per unit of fuel (more efficiency), and more torque. There is a sweet spot of efficiency and power, some say it is in the 0.9:1.0 bore:stroke ratio (I am looking at the Honda NC series), but that is another story. TL:DR Engines with longer strokes will have more low end torque.

Hi, I have question, do you experience gas leakage from underneath of tank after refueling. I have exactly same bike and after I fill it and leave overnight, I found leaked gas, not much, on left side underneath of tank. Thanks.

No I have never had that issue and I have not heard of anyone having it. Is it spilling out of an overflow maybe?

The only bike I kept was my Ninja 650 because its more upright, are there any mods that can be done to this bike to make it rideable in a more upright position? I disagree about your break in procedure. Number one if you’ve been riding motorcycles as long as you say, you know that you’re more vulnerable for the first six months to a year on any new machineNo matter how much experience you have. So part of that break and procedure is to help you get more acquainted with the motorcycle and scrub in the tires and brakes etc. also I believe in following the manufacturers recommendations because after all they did engineer and manufacture the machine. I’m riding a 2021 Kawasaki Z 900 RS café. I followed the recommended braking procedure because I don’t think that I am smarter than the engineers and the billions of dollars that went into R&D. I’ve been riding motorcycles for over 30 years and I can tell when I get an older machine that has not been broken in properly. You can actually measure the components in the engine and see the difference in tolerances. There’s been many studies on this however, the break in debate has been and will be going on forever

Not fast, just enough what to expect from a 1/4 litre 1 cylinder. i have the 2016 gt250r, only design complaint is philips screws holding the oil screen on. Also in the manual it says you cant skip gears while shifting. Maybe im lacking on maintenance somewhere (only 3k miles in) but it has issues shifting sometimes seemingly when i accidentally skip agear in shifting. It can be hard to go into neutral shift like 20 times til you finally land in it. It can straight up not let you shift into first and leave you sitting there looking stupid at intersections til you shut the engine off and restart. It can make clunking noises and some odd behaviors in shifting and stuff. BUT im a new rider, seems to not happen if you make a point to cyclethrough every gear, and manage to not accidentally go to low of speed for a gear (killing the engine in gear). Any chance you could let me know the GD250R parts are compatible with my bike? Namely the front cowl/faring for the nicer headlights that dont look like a moped, and the engine. Just wondering if i buy parts off this bike as i repair, i can phase into the one i wish i got lol.
@MirrormaskMV5 жыл бұрын
No the GT250R and the GD250R are two completely different bikes. But as far as not getting into 1st while at a light, try letting the clutch out just a little bit and downshifting to first, also try rocking the back forward and backwards a little while trying to shift to first. As you are coming up to the light there are two ways you can go about it, you can either downshift and use engine breaking to slow you down all the way to 1st or you can pull the clutch in and use your breaks while you shift down to first. If you slightly let the clutch out and you feel the bike lung forward a little, you are too high of speed for that gear, pull clutch back in and go up one gear and slowly let it out. You will get a feel for it, just dont let the clutch all the way out until you are sure your speed will match your gear. Otherwise you will lock the rer tire up and the engine will shut off
