My grandma used the technique of picking a court card as a significator based on the person's apperance and age. I have discovered, however, that there's another traditional way of reading, in which the querent is always a court card from the Hearts suit (traditionally a King for a man, a Queen for a woman, but I guess we could also use Jack just like you said, love the 1 and 1 paralel, BTW). When I learned about it, I loved this idea, because then we just get a significator card, a significant other card (Queen of Hearts and King of Hearts are a couple) and the rest of court cards actually have their own meanings and functions, not necessarily the meaning of a person (e.g. Jack of Diamonds means "hope", King of Clubs means "job" etc., but in special cases they can also mean people). I'm using 32 cards (starting from 7s), but my grandma used only 24 (from 9s). I always struggled with this crowd of people in the reading :D Loved your idea for timing and seasons! Thanks for another interesting cartomancy video!

So interesting, and so many ways to work… I'm just now working out how I want to tackle the card-by-card meanings in this series, because they can be so variable based on the situation and question, and they change depending on the adjacent cards… or maybe that's just my tarot-mind coming into play, even though they are so clearly different :) Thanks for sharing, it totally makes sense, since the querent is usually asking about their "heart" so in that situation, they are always of the heart suit. I also find using Jokers as significators can be helpful too, but more so when they face one direction or the other (even more so if they reflect each other - one facing one way, the other facing the other!) and then they can also be non-binary and allow all of the Court cards to be as they are for the readings.

@@MirrorsofConsciousness "The querent is usually asking about their "heart" so in that situation, they are always of the heart suit". - Yes, I like that! And they are the "heart" of the reading :)
