Totally agree. I've heard that big animals, such as bears, will make sounds as they walk and such - Giving you a clue if they are nearby!

Just got the game due to this series. Thanks a lot for the step for step guide! You are doing a great job educating somebody who is completely new to the game. Just survived my second night and I'm moving to the south. I want to live in the tropics. Got any tips on that perhaps? Anyway, I'm going to watch Ep.2 again ;)

I think the raw hide rotting is similar to food. A good cellar will make it last much longer.

So completely damaged armor doesn't just disappear? I kind of wanted to finish making copper chain mail before playing in the woods. Good to know it won't just vanish on me from being destroyed.

wish they would do the same for tools and weapons, at least the metal ones. Forging is nice and all but get's old after a while

​@carlosbelo9304 there's a few mods that allow you to get scrap back from your broken tools, so basically a mangled tool head can be smelted down for some of the metal that went into it, I enjoy those mods as it makes it more realistic rather than the tool vanishing from existence

I have a ton of iron but no fire clay. Can you give some tips for finding fire clay so I can use my iron?

Look in open flatter grassy areas and not during winter (snow makes it almost impossible). Those are the easiest to find.

Clay also generates mostly in areas with a lot of rain. So check the environment you are in! If its always precipitating, good chance clay is somewhere!
