I really want to work at a community centre or something like that, maybe a recreational program and starting out as a clerk. I was discouraged cause it’s not stem job or degree people say anything other than that is useless but this video made me a bit more confident :)

Is a bachelor's degree required to get into this field? Can I major in business and get into parks and recs? Thank you

Hey! A bachelor's degree specific to the field isn't required but depending on your role, an agency might prefer that degree. A lot of professionals start in other career paths with other degrees like business and move into the field. However, to be a CPRP, you need to have at least 3 years full time experience in the field if you're going for a degree outside recreation/parks.

I think it totally depends on the role you are applying for. If you look on governmentjobs.com for the type of ideal job that you want, then see the min. Education requirements. That will give you a better idea.
