A politics teacher in high school had us read the book for a weekend seminar with the intention of strengthening our belief in democracy. Needless to say it has the opposite effect on me, but to her credit, still a ballsy move to make high school students read Hoppe.

Hoppe’s account of time-preferences and decivilization offers a very compelling explanation of the decline of western society
