Misfire diagnosis and cylinder balance testing using an oscilloscope

PicoDiagnostics software can be used to quickly test the relative power output (power balance) and count the number of misfires from each cylinder. This can rapidly show problems such as power loss due to ignition issues, blocked injectors or poor compression.

Thanks for the video but how does the pico know witch cylinder is not contributing? Have you sync one cylinder in particular? And could this test be done while driving?

I don't think the scope knows which cylinder is which. So it lists them ABC etc. If you know the firing order you can disconnect one coil/injector and watch for the drop and then know which cylinder is which. However, I think you would have to identify the cylinders each time you stop/start this test as the ABC cylinders would likely have changed.
