So it’s no different than a car event and someone doing a skid in the car park the police have no traffic enforcement powers. Seems to me the biggest threat to the end of the nats is not from the skids, or the cars, even if they're lighting em up only during the cruise. It's the boys choosing to jump the barrier. That's one way for summernats to get the wrong attention. Not sure what the cops are doing, though. This is a closed off-street event. my interest in summernats begins and ends at what happens along that street. get rid of that and the crowd numbers drop significantly. who the fuck wants to drive to canberra of all places to see just another car show. i remember the clips from maybe last year or the year before. barriers running down the middle aswell. that worked well. but not having tall fencing to keep random screaming plebs away from the drivers windows is the reason. that peer pressure hits the accelerator pretty hard. but im for it aswell haha. let what happens along there happen. drivers probably arent that interested in power skids at 100kmh and barrelling through 15 pissed cunts. they just want to melt a set, having a good time and then go park it. let it live.

They need to have Pans and more Skid Rows open, people come to skid, make them pay to skid a pad. Power cruise works well like that and if you've been drinking, you aren't allowed on. Period. 3 or 4 sectioned off pads to for people to skid and maybe 2 or 3 skid rows. Make it a dry event and it'll calm down a lot more.
