Along Jamaica’s impoverished southern coast, Billy “Mystic” Wilmot and his sons have built an unlikely surf community and pioneered many of the island’s best waves. But for the next generation of Jamaican surfers, surfing is more than a pastime. It’s the potential for a better life. For our September Issue, Dylan Graves and Dane and Tanner Gudauskas ventured to Jamaica to experience the island’s surf scene.

no not quite man. My dad is Jamaican, and he always tells us stories of gun violence, and he complains about other countries getting slave reparations and Jamaica not. I also lived in Grenada nearish to Jamaica for two years. Although we were well off enough, the West Indies is still full of third world countries.

Brazilians weren't even on the tour for a long ass time. 10 years ago de souza was the first Brazilian to qualify. look at the Brazilian storm now. and surfing is in the olympics now giving every country even more incentive to support professional surfers. quit hating and go surf bud.
