Obviously I was a child when the band broke up in 83' so the only option to see and hear these songs live was during the 90's and say what you will about the band, they always put on a killer show and were a ton of fun live.. The Misfits were me and all of my friends' favorite band back in the mid 90's, before they got back together. We went to see them in 1996 when they first reformed, and it was GREAT, Michael Graves looked EXACTLY like a young Danzig, and they played nothing but the classics, there were no new songs yet cluttering up the set list. I remember we all picked up American Psycho back in 1997 when it first came out, expecting this awesome album(this is before all the old punk bands started getting back together and putting out horrible albums, so we didn't knw any better), and the first song, which is the title track, came on, and we were actually pretty impressed. Unfortunately, then we heard the rest of the album. Of course, it goes without saying that we all found different favorite old school punk bands shortly after, and ditched our Misfits shirts, especially when all the Hot Topic stores started opening up in malls shortly thereafter. It's hard to believe now there was actually a time when it was cool to walk around with a crimson ghost shirt. It sucks that Jerry Only had to take that away from us by dragging the name through the mud and turning the band into a joke.

I remember getting into Misfits during my 70s-80s punk phase as a college freshman, especially because I knew how much they influenced My Chemical Romance, my favorite band ever, (they loved the band so much Astro Zombies was one of 4 cover songs the band ever did in their 10 years), and I cant help but feel the Misfits Helena had at least some influence on MCR's song of the same name, even if they are very different in sound and writing and only share the name. I remember listening to American Psycho and thinking the album and band were good but not fantastic or great. It wasnt until I found out about the different lineups and that Glenn Danzig (who I knew from being a Danzig fan) was the original vocalist that I fell in love with the band and it ironically gave me more appreciation for the Michael Graves era, which I think is underrated, but still not as great as the 80s Misfits. Static Age & Walk Among Us are goddamn I can listen to angelfuck forever

I'd personally switch Famous Monsters and Earth AD. And then switch Walk Among Us with Static Age. Famous Monsters is a fantastic album with great riffs, actually deep lyrics, and amazing vocal performances by Graves. It plays like a greatest hits album. Soaring above Earth AD. And I believe Walk Among Us is the quintessential Misfits album. Song after song of iconic misfits. As many great songs as Static Age has, Walk Among Us takes the cake for me. Just my opinion.

But why does he think the demand for him would be higher than Danzig era Danzig literally has a cult following

You got the the #1 spot right. Static Age is a winning lottery ticket that got lost in the mail.

For me: from worst to first. Not sure if these are the same ones you are ranking (I'm a minute into it right now), but, anyways. 8. Devil's Rain (this may belong above 1950, but the truth is I listened to that one more) 7. Project 1950 (they're not great, but I like 50s tunes, saw them live around this time a few times, and I enjoy it). 6. American Psycho (bones, doomsday are favorites) 5. Earth AD (this is awesome, but again, I listen to it less than FM probably... it's less fun than most Misfits) 4. Famous Monsters (forbidden zone, saturday night, scream, among other good ones) 3. Walk Among Us (I know that this is the most legendary, but that's in part b/c this was the only 'Fits LP until 1982, whereas I first heard the band on Collection I... I prefer some of those versions to some of these) 2. 12 Hits From Hell (Bobby Steele is favorite Misfits guitarist) 1. Static Age (If this was released in '78 like it was supposed to, it would be one of the all time first wave classic punk records, easy).

Dont forget that Bruiser was used in the movie Bruiser and Fiend without a face was also written for the movie. Plus they play a cameo in the film as the club band as the misfits. Way cooler than them in that ICP movie..

I would say your last two picks are a tie cuz I really love walk among us, that album is incredible and it’s the first misfits album I ever listened to, I grew up listening to the misfits and I still listen to them all the time at age 45, for my last tattoo I’m gonna get the misfits skull with the words we are 138, I already have two Danzig tattoos, but Danzig is my favorite singer songwriter of all time, I enjoyed the misfits with graves too, he did a good job

I don’t mind The Devil’s Rain. It’s pretty forgettable, but I think it is the best of the non Danzig record. That’d be my number 4. You’re top 3 is spotless. The rest I never consider, so they can whatever spots.
