@@bearde_mut9731I think you're missing the op's point, it's about reusing an old name but creating a completely different car type. Most manufacturers are making crossover suv but they're not using old classic names from their back catalogue. Only Ford seem to be doing it; Mustang E, Puma and recently Capri
@Soche20063 ай бұрын
@@bearde_mut9731I totally agree. But what can you do when you need to cross a 200m street that is not cleaned in the winter and you have 2 small kids also? You can't use a 1.4 Polo, in my case my Ibiza 1.4TDI as it's too low for the snow and lacks isofix. I can't put the kids in a van either. Toyota Hilux is too big and costly... So I bought a Tucson Hybrid which ticked most of the boxes. Not a big fan of SUVs, but sometimes you need them.

If u could afford one track car, the Sierra Cosworth would be it. The Sapphire model is the ultimate sleeper car, in my opinion, much more discreet than the shouty hatchback xr41 derived Cossies. Sierras look quite small by modern standards but they really were nice and roomy inside. I was an over-six foot gangly teenager in the mid to late 80s and regular journeys from Scotland to England, and a holiday across France were never uncomfortable with the four of us in our family Sierra 1.6L. Compared to most other Ford Cars from that era - both European and American - they were reliable and put together well too. They weren't made using bits of kitkat wrapper prit-sticked to melty rubber, like most post Cortina pre Mondeo Fords were.

You forgot Misha it has 4 wheel drive also!.Best with them is poly bush it through out and then drives likes a 300bhp plus Go Kart! Handles superb flick it left/right and just so easy to catch plus don't forget the changed the top and changed it into an Escort Cosworth as floor pan was sierra. My Sierra turned into a Sapphire as one turned up with a junk 1.8 cvh stripped it out and fully rewired it with Sierra looms and put all my suspension/Brakes/Exhaust system and also the fuel injection system.Gaz adjustable shocks uprated springs discs all round with big disc kit on fronts mintex pads all round! and Full poly bushes.I polished and ported head with cam kit and other bits plus modded fuel injection and it came with green injectors!. Quite amusing as had 1.8 on rear lid! where it had a 205 blocked injection pinto! Also think it was a Belgium Ghent built shell where the motor sport shells was made as came in the blue metallic that many cosworths came in esp three doors as you could buy paint over the counter had to get made up!.plus shell had a couple of things that was in the road shells but not on Cosworth shells!. Couple of minuses with them one is sunroof allows for body flex/Cracking other is rear end semi trailing arms when compressed rear end toes out leading to tyre/bearing wear. But the Cosworth's esp likes of three doors had adjustable arms where they cut arms down and welded in adjustable threaded eye bolts. Have some books for them one a works type for prepping/building and setting up 3-4 and XR4's for rallying also if i remember right a Pinto/NA cosworth engines book which going to sell off.

I did heaps back in the day lol fkn tire smoke pouring off the rear tires down the street right in front of all the night clubs getting cheered on 😂 then I went to a fully worked 1.6L crossflow 1978 MK2 escort and man that thing went so nuts for a non turbo car.. it needed another 2 gears.. screaming at 180km/h the stock 4spd 1.6 box was just not enough.. insane back in those days. I also had a blue printed HC 2.0L in my cortina wagon and it got me to 190km/h in no time for a car that was a 1983 build date..
